Howe asphalt circle track chassis
What do you think? Hang a fiberglass AMX body on it and go autocrossing?

I'm guessing the wheelbase is more conducive to a Javelin body (108 vs 97"), but, yeah--that would be pretty effin cool.

They make excellent hillclimbers. Don't even need a body!

Must have more info, external shots and video and preferably a build log
Looked a lot like the vehicle at the top.
Just switched the front a-arms to equal length and equal spring rates to center it up and added some slicks. Engine was a Chevy 350 with a welded crack from freezing with water in the block. Nothing special. He even ran a welded rear end.
Later in its life I got a little drunk and made him a HUGE rear wing to help plant it. It worked a treat! We also painted it camo.
Overall the car was about as refined as a stab wound. He had an off with it last year and it has been parked since. Should be making a comeback for 2014.

This looked pretty cool: Nascar Racing Chassis - $4000 (Woodland, AL)
wibble...
Some of these are looking like a lot of car for the money...
I wonder how they feel to drive; I've spent a lot of time pondering what it's like to drive a "real" race car like a DSR or Formula Ford... These are just as serious, there's just a lot more... car... there.
What does one of these things weigh?

Fully dressed you can have them around 2,500 lbs easily
Steering typically is light on feel, but you can get a steering rack that improves that based on your budget.
