Thought I would throw this out there...been looking for a bit with no luck. Thought I would harness the power of the hive, to see if anyone know of one. Prefer midwest car, hate to travel really far, for basically a cheap beater. Tried on ToyotaNation and CL in the area. Prefer 5-speed, but won't rule out an automatic. Anybody know of one available?

Good luck. Very rare car. I think I have seen one and that was a long time ago.

A quick google search seems to indicate that nobody really knows how many were made.

Been looking for a couple months. Kept thinking one would pop up but no such luck. I know not many were made, and most have returned to the earth at this point, so I may be hoping for something that is never going to happen, but we shall see.

I drove an auto one once. The weather was not adverse at the time though so I would've been hard pressed to tell you it was an all-trac other than the badge on the back.

Not that that helps your cause or anything.

I see Corolla and Celica All-Tracs, but no Accords

You may have to constantly search all-trac site:craigslist.org I's also use variations of all-trac and maybe AWD

Yeah, that's gonna be a tough find. I bet they only sold in places were they got enough snow/ice to salt the roads and they were probably driven all winter. They're probably all rusted to oblivion by now, as you suggested. Last one I saw was about 8 years ago in upstate NY.

A friend of mine here in Milwaukee had a 5-speed with 300k+ that was absolutely rotted, but still ran and drove. Doing the fuel and brake lines was an enlightening experience, and he sold it for about $500. That was four years ago. You would actually have better luck finding a Celica All-Trac...Corollas and Tercels pop up with some frequency as well, but my buddy's was the only Camry All-Trac I have seen in a loooooooooong time.

A manual camry alltrac sold for $1300 with only minor rust. 1989, I think it was, and it was on the Indianapolis CL, so it might pop up again. You never know. The guy had it listed as "4wd camry", no all trac involved, so be careful with your search terms. Because they look like any other camry and are relatively unknown, the owner likely has no idea what they have.

This may sound stupid but, why Toyota vs. Audi or Subaru?? The old Audi 4kq is virtually indestructable and it's 4wd system works wonders. I used to push and pull Subis out of snow banks all day long in the 80s with mine.

Not stupid....

Having owned an All-Trac Camry, and All-Trac Corollas, the All-Trac system is simple and effective and quite stout.

It is a lock-able system, you can lock the front to the rear by running vacuum to the can shaped item in the upper right of the image.

In the Corolla, they used a solid axle rear from the previous generations rwd platform. In the Camry they used a similar version of an IRS system found in the Celica All-Trac.

I wish you luck sir. Just want to echo the others and suggest you look for Celica alltrac because Camry is going to be a tough putt.

Try "Autotempest" website which will give you nationwide access to Craigslist and other auto selling websites.

on the main forum I read the link on the Matrix/Vibe... Wondering after what you guys have posted, an AWD Matrix or Vibe may have to do? Any thoughts/experience on the AWD versions? I know the 1,8 is interference, and is basically a Corolla in body armour...

No stick in an AWD Matrix IIRC and no 180 hp motor either.
