Anyone have a pair of 15"x4" front wheels with a GM 5 on 4.75" bolt pattern they want to get rid of cheap for use on my Challenge car? They can be old, ugly, rashed, whatever. They just need to hold air and run true. Thanks!

That may be a little too wide but let me know. If you can weigh them I'll be able to figure out the shipping. Thanks.

I already have a pair of them but they're super heavy. They'll work in a pinch but I was seeing if there was a better alternative.

on my '04 challenge V8Vair i had a pair of IROC-Z space-saver spare rims normal tires mounted up. they're only 14x5 but they're pretty light 10-spoke aluminum deals. i got 'em for about $30 apiece and the tires were dumpster-dive specials from belle tire.

my firewall won't let me go to webshots.com to link a pic, but if you go to my webshots albums and click on the second 2004 Challenge album, the space-savers are on the front of the car in driveway photos.

I didn't know GM made aluminum space savers but those have potential. I love the way they look. If you didn't tell me they were spares I would've thought they were aftermarkets. I think I'll be going to the junk yard tomorrow.

i think the bare wheel weighed 9 lbs. i don't know if they were in all the IROC's or if they were limited to the 1LE cars. I'm pretty sure they were in 100% of the Trans Am GTA cars. i think i bought one locally and got the other from eBay. idk how obscure they are these days, but when i got mine they were already 12 - 15 years old.

i masked the rims, and painted the spokes with duplicolor mag wheel paint. i'm pretty sure the color is called "charcoal" but it is the darkest of the silvers that they had at AdvanPepZone. then i jacked up the car, pulled the masking, and bolted them on the rear. i let the engine idle in 3rd gear while i hit them with fine - superfine - ultrafine wet sandpaper to get an awesome satin finish on the rims. they looked really nice when done.

i just emailed the guy who bought mine, to see if he's still got them. it was 7 years ago, so who knows. i think he put them on the front of a V6 Regal that he was drag racing at the time.

google found me this pic on an f-body site:

apparently the black rim is aluminum, 15" diameter, from an '89 Formula 350. larger rear brake in '89 drove the change from 14" to 15" on the aluminum space-saver, per post #16 in this thread

oh, the guy who bought mine said he hasn't used them in a while and is willing to sell, so now i have to convince him that they're only worth $20 apiece.

Angry, I did some research and found that a 14" rim won't fit over my brakes so don't go nuts. I'm kinda sad because those rims look great. It seems the price has gone up,too. I found two on eBay for $100 each.

Racinginc215, those are wider than I can use. I'm sorry.
