Wanted to Buy: Your wagon/hatchback. I have $10,000 cash money. Can fly out/drive back. The closer to the Pacific NW, the better. Must be a manual trans, cloth seats, and have a clean title. In order of desirability:
- 02-03 WRX Wagon (WRB preferred, I'd be there tomorrow for one)
- 04-05 WRX Wagon (WRB preferred)
- Mazda6 Wagon (not the hatch, the wagon), much prefer the "Sport" package and the Gunmetal color.
- Focus SVT 5-door (especially that dark blue)
- Protege5 (again, prefer blue, see a trend yet?)
Thanks!
(PS - GRM, hope a WTB is ok?)
Just a hint.. Remove the.. I have X amount of money from the posting.. Cause now if someone has one of those cars... It's now going to be X amount asking price.
I like to think that most of us in GRM land are fairly honest about money.
Heck I have seen many "special to a GRMer price" items here.
We are a family, a kooky family with a male to female ratio that even the Smurfs can't match, and a never ending desire to turn every car ever into a track car or add a turbo, but a family nonetheless.

My vote is for Mazda6 wagon.

I agree, actually, it's probably the only place where that technique will work. For instance, if my wagon was blue, manual ,had cloth seats, was on his list and wasn't the opposite of the Pacific coast I'd sell it to him for much much less than he specified.
How about a 2002 BMW wagon? Manual, sport package, premium package (but leather seats). 99k miles, overkill maintenance and fits within your budget? Granted it's in FL, but I bought it from Oregon, so it would be returning to its roots!

How much do you want for that old wagon?

Now, if the OP actually wanted it, you might not be being very nice.

The one in Bothell I've been watching for awhile. Read the description though, "THIS IS A SUPER LOW PRICE, THE REASON IS SOMETIME THE MOTOR MAKES A SLIGHT TICKING NOISE, MY MECHANIC SAID THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY NEED A MOTOR..."
Yeah... Not touching that one with a 10 foot pole. When a slime dealer actually admits it needs a new motor, the rods are probably hanging out of the block.
The Denver one is 40% over my budget and leather.
The Spokane one is 20% over my budget.

I might look into a BMW, but no leather.

Understood. I would love to have the BMW hurricane cloth myself!

Don't forget the Saabaru...they're within your price range, especially if you're willing to travel. The styling is subjective, but otherwise it's a tarted up WRX with some STI bits. Just a few samples for reference:

I wish I could sell you ours, but Jessica is still too in love with it to part ways. Did you see this one?

Bryce,
I have not forgotten the Saabaru! I haven't ever actually seen one for sale around us in the last 4 months though.
I did see that WRX BTW... It clicks all of my buttons besides the color. I'm going to need to go check that out...
CRAP! They sold the WRX!
Back down to 0 cars within 500 miles...
I have a silver 2002 WRX wagon FS... in Ohio. A 'see the country' road trip, maybe? Has snow tires mounted, ready to go!
Still looking...
Trying to stay away from an extreme road-trip car if at all possible (unless it's blue).

They're both at dealers.
Uh, thanks, but I'm in Washington State. Those cars are in Wisconsin, and if I go to Kenosha, I'm coming back with another AMC.

So now we need to start calling Lesley "Smurfette"?
She's gonna hurt someone if they try!!

Mine's closer! It's only kinda-sorta for sale though. For some reason, all this GTO talk has been having me lusting a V8...
Still looking
Can afford a little more now. Needs to be:
- 2002 or newer
- Manual Trans
- Wagon/5-door hatch
- Cloth seats
Examples of what I would want:
- 02-07 Subaru WRX wagon
- 05-10 Mazda5
- 04-06 Mazda3 hatch
- 06+ Mazdaspeed3
- 04-06 Mazda6 Wagon
Prefer lower mileage (like less than 100K)!
Have cash!
Will travel!
