1973 Datsun 240Z with automatic transmission. Body and interior are rough but would make a good challenge, lemons, or parts car. It does run, drive, and stop well enough to load it onto a trailer. Rear quarters have had patch panels welded at some point but there is some filler that is cracking. Original color was orange but it was painted red at some point. Floors and frame rails are rotted but there is enough metal left to work with. Drives side front frame rail has a rust hole above where the sway bar mounts. I have removed the rotted fenders and front bumper to use on my other car but can include some fiberglass ones that need work. Wheels on the car are mix matched to make it roll. I have the other slotted mags but one has a bent lip. I have more slotted mags that can go with the car but they are slightly different and 1 of those has had the center opened up and a center cap no longer fits. Mechanical fuel pump has been replaced but the lines were hacked up by the previous owner to install an electric pump in the engine bay.
So yeah its kind of a mess. Good new is it does have some decent parts on it. Original steering wheel and radio are still there and go for decent money on ebay. It has dual Weber DGV carbs but someone hacked together the linkage. Replacement linkage kits are available if you want to swap the carbs onto another Z. I have a clutch pedal assembly that can go with it if you want to swap in a manual. Think I even have a 4 speed trans that can go with it too. Doors, rear hatch, and under the battery are surprisingly solid.
Hacked up linkage
Car does not have a title but it's currently registered in my brothers name in Maine. Maine doesn't not have titles for vehicles older then 1995. With the current reg you should be able to title the car in another state. If you really want a title for it I'll get one in MA but it's going to cost more money and take 4-6 weeks to get it.

Good news is that you are far away.

Where in ME is the car located?
You're killing me. I could really go for a new shell for my project.
In reply to drivendaily:
If you are interested in just the shell maybe we can work something out. I also have a one piece fiberglass front clip that can go with the car. I already pulled off the hood, fenders and bumper to test fit it. I'll take a picture of it tonight.
Hmmm....and I have parts....
More pictures to show off some of the bad spots.
Driver side floor. Its rotted above the frame rail then someone riveted in a piece of metal which then rotted out around it. The rest of the pan and toe board is still there.
Passenger side looks the same except it rotted around the drain for the dealer installed A/C.
There is rust in the rear hatch area above the tail lights. It's tough to tell how bad it really is since the previous owner smeared some fiberglass on it.
Rear quarters had patch panels for the arches welded in. You can see where they were installed from inside the hatch. The body work is showing its age and the filler and paint is cracking. Drivers side is worse because someone started sanding it down then sprayed a bunch of primer on it.
Rot above the front swaybar.
Bump, going to start parting this out because I want it gone. Let me know if you need anything.
i need one of the little 2"x2" L shaped trims for the top corner of the hatch chrome around the glass and the interior rearview mirror

I really need to buy this and start driving it toautocrosses. The guy who's car I codrive would think I'm an idiot. This is his car Datsun
In reply to patgizz:
Let me see if the trim will come off nicely this weekend and I'll check the condition of the rear view mirror.
Actually pretty solid for a Z. They can rust a lot worse than that. Glad you're not closer!
In reply to patgizz:
Tried to message you but it didn't go though. I removed the rear trim pieces. If you are still interested send me your address and I'll send them to you for free. Rear view mirror is in poor shape and around the glass is discolored.
Dammit I wish you were closer
Bump, started parting out the car. Interior is gutted and most of it has been sold off. Body and drivetrain are still there. It will run and drive if you jump a few wires. Let me know if you need anything.
Parted out the interior and a few other pieces. I hope to scrap the shell this weekend. Anyone need anything off the car before it goes?

Im interested in the following: carbs etc, steering wheel, door handles and pulls, taillights, how is the center console? how is the center stack in the dash? do you have a door mirror(s)? all 4 hub caps?
Thanks
In reply to Pattyo:
Right now sale is pending on the whole shell. Pretty much everything you were looking for has already been sold but I might have a door mirror and door handles in my spare parts. I'll check tonight when I get home.

Dang it.....I am rethinking this....call if it falls through....
FYI pseudo is awesome he sent me the parts for my challenge car for $0!
Sold the shell for $200. Not bad considering I bought it for $300 then parted it out out of $2K. New owner wanted it for the engine plus a few other parts. He'll probably resell the shell and fiberglass front clip. I can send him an email if anyone is interested.
Pattyo: I found those parts I mentioned but didn't get a chance to take any pictures. I'll try to take some tonight and if you are interested i'll give you the same GRM discount I gave patgizz.
Glad it worked out, I still wish I had sorted out a parking space for it. Oh well, my other s30 project is coming along nicely.
