I thought about this last night, then thought about the thread about the gambler 500, then was relieved that it was on the west coast, and I'm In PA, because no beater rally of any sort could turn down a $350 Jag, let alone an XJS.
Then I went to the Facebook group page and saw a pic that said Gambler 500 East coast coming soon. Hmm
Then I thought about FrenchyD's posts about the limp wristed fairies that that assembled these cars with loose ground connections from the factory, and figured thats probably why it won't light off with out starting fluid.
Thank God I don't have $350 in my pocket right now. I'm saving the guys number though.

That has lemons written all over it.
They can hide their rust just like any old car. I believe those rear roof pillars/rear quarters can condemn one. Seem to remember Clarkson saying that a quarter century ago.

Andy, I showed the ad to Jon in my shop. And I'm pretty sure I know the neighborhood the car is in. I almost had Jon ready to put that v12 in his Model A. He's trying to talk his buddy into it for his.
If they do, I'll taunt you with a roller XJS...

IMO, the V12 is the only reason to have an XJS, in fact, what I really want is the XJ12 sedan, your taunts will fail!

Hell ya put an in line pump in that and drive it. If it is ecu related just ditch the motor completely for a gm motor of choice
Do those use speed and reference sensors like the German cars of that vantage?

Oddly enough I came close to trading my $500 P71 for a $500 XJS. Im happy with my decision to keep the P71
