Don't all Brats have jump seats? That's what made them a Brat.

The later ones did not have jump seats.

The thing I find interesting is the t-tops.

I already have a pair of Brat jump seats that I never installed in the bed of my Scrambler for the last 20 years...

They only had the seats until '85. The seats were a way around the "Chicken Tax"

Bonus points if you make it look like this.

Oh man, I need that. I've wanted a BRAT for a long time. I wonder if the rear seats would even be legal to use. I know that NY law states that seats in pickup beds need to have seatbelts and covering over the passengers head (like a bed cap) but these seats were there like that from the factory.

I blame my childhood obsession with the movie "The Manhattan Project" but I would love to see a roadgoing full scale replica of the Tamiya Brat

I don't even like lifted vehicles but that RC car is so damn cool.

As I mentioned earlier, the seats were in response to the "Chicken Tax", and allowed Subaru to classify the Brat as a 4 seat "passenger vehicle" instead of a truck. They came with seat belts, and I would image that makes the back a "passenger compartment" instead of a bed, as that is how they were sold.

Hmmm. I wonder if those seats could be fitted at cheap lightweight racing seats into something else....
