Is it an actual Z28, or just a clone?
I guess I'm asking what are you looking at that says "Z28" to you, I know nothing about old Camaros.

The nose, hood, other trim, and the Crossfire 305 all say Z28 to me. My limited 3rd gen knowledge mostly applies to 1986+ Firebirds though.

The hood, nose, and wheels are all 1982-83 Z28 items, and there's no way in hillbilly hell that someone is transplanting a Crossfire Injection setup onto another Camaro. 11 times out of 10, someone's slapping a carb on there instead. Sure, someone could have swapped all this stuff, but looking at the car's condition, it's been sitting like that for at least 15-20 years. That thing's been growing a science experiment's worth of aged mold, spores, and fungi that would make Egon Spengler blush, so I'm thinking it's all original.

Another thing about the Crossfire cars: They have a bad reputation for a "performance" engine, and that's mainly due to the intake design. Basically, it's a crossram setup with two TBI setups instead of carbs. Sounds cool, right? Well it would have been, but GM neutered it by making the intake terrible. It chokes down airflow and there's no headroom in the design. I've read that just swapping the intake with a better designed one will greatly increase power and drivability across the board. This one, made by Renegade Performance, is supposed to add 30hp just by bolting it on.
You can also pretend to be Lorenzo Lamas listening to the song Renegade by the Power Metal band Hammerfall while driving your Z28 if you buy the Renegade Performance one that's out there.
