Did a water pump replacement on one back in the late 80s on a friend's car. Can't remember all the details, but I remember it took a full weekend to get the PITA done

I'm not sure if it'd win anything for that feat, but I'd wager a book could be written about the adventure. Keep the GRM help list/assistance thread bookmarked.

People may start deleting their names from it.
Has one ever crossed the 75k or 100k mile threshold? I always seem to noticed the low miles on them.
What's the primary issue/weakness with these cars? Engine, electrical, cooling, transmission, or is it all of the above. Such a cool looking shape...Some masochist has to have solved the problems by doing a full-on swap.

Okay, since nobody SAID what it was, I had to click to see it. I guess it's like certain supernatural creatures, you don't say the name out loud.
My understanding is that everything is great except the engine, which is a fractal of failure. From (inaccessible) filters in the oil passages that plug and starve the heads of oil so the cams sieze, to engine tuning that was described by C&D as letting you know it was in boost by how the engine would start detonating manaically (if it wasn't just fuel starving because you cornered too hard - fuel slosh in the carburetor), it's a wonder that they get many miles on them at all. User m4ff3w (i think) had a build thread/repair log a while back. His stories of adjusting the valves were enlightening.
I still really want one, though, ever since discovering that they are smaller than E30s.

13B swap would be interesting while preserving some if the factory reLIABILITY
Nice. Those seats... My old Biturbo had some of the best seats I've ever had in a car. And yeah, they're sketchy, but remember that Capri XR2 thread last week, where I said the XR2 is one of the worst cars I've ever had? I had a Biturbo and it ranked above that Capri.
Just sayin'...
If this car was in the midwest, I'd buy it.
If you start now you may make it to Florida before the challenge, at least by a couple of days. Someone posted a build thread for a 1UZ swapped BiTurbo in Maz's R63 thread and I was reading it eariler.
Come on guyyyyyyss. If you can put a Honda Odyssey engine in Meotter, you can out one in a Beeturbo.
You'll need to log in to post.
