What's broken with the regulators you have?
Miata NA window regulators aren't necessarily the most durable parts ever designed, but the issues are often gunked up window tracks and a general lack of lubrication (plus a broken rear bushing).
The window tracks got gunked up and this led to some seriously stiff window action. On top of that there was never any lubrication for the cables by the previous owner, so they rusted right through and snapped. And then, whoever it was, decided to roll up or down the window so much that the cable actually went inside the little regulator. I have heard that bicycle cables don’t work though is that true?
