I'm building a truck bed mounted rack for hauling my father's Catrike Trail recumbant bike and I need two old style Thule bicycle rack trays.
They can be either fork mount style like this:
or the upright style like this:
The style doesn't matter, as I will only be using the bottom tray and hardware to mount it to a pair of rails like this one:
What's killing me is the fact that I had four of these things that I either gave away or sold cheap last year, and now I need to find two more.
Man, I used to have a few of those banging around in my shed. They got recycled a few years back. Worst case you can buy them direct from Thule for 38 bucks each
In reply to EastCoastMojo:
I didn't know that they were still selling that stuff. But I think I'm still better off finding something used, as all the mounting hardware would add up quickly.

I've got two of the upright versions if you dont find anything locally LMK
Woody, stop in at Thule off RT 67 in Seymour & tell them what you're doing. They might just give ya a couple scratch & dent returns for free or cheap. Nice folks there, used to deal with them a lot.

I stopped there years ago, but they told me that they didn't do any retail sales from there, which kinda sucks because I pass it on my way to work.
No, they don't do any retail there but I'd bet if you go and ask to talk to the engineering guys about a project then explain what you're to them, you might have some luck. They were a bunch of GRMish bike/car guys.
I made a "compact car" rack out of Thule stuff for one of my employees who had a little Honda Civic hatch in the 90's. Shortly after that I got him a job in Thule's shipping dept. One day he went out to go to lunch and the engineers were standing around his car looking at the rack because it looked like a factory Thule rack but a model that was never made. A couple weeks later they came out with a "new" rack exactly like the one I made for my bud. ahahaha

I've got two of the fork mount ones. I'm in Colorado if you're interested...
Could you cut a PCV pipe in half lengthwise and accomplish the same thing? A U-bolt/plate is all you need for mounting hardware, right?
FWIW, almost all they trays are compatible with different bar shapes. You can find the Yakima trays on ebay for <$20
I'm pretty sure I still have a tray that the end 1 or 2 inches is bent up. Yours free, but I'm in Canada.
Where are you located? Could ship from Niagara Falls within the month, or I am likely coming down to Hilton Head Island for the festival. There is a lot of America between here and there, that you likely live in somewhere LOL.
I have a bunch of that crap that is modestly bent up. Do NOT ask how they got that way.
Still need these? I found something in my shed that looks similar to these.

I have not found any yet. What have you got?

I still have the two I previously offered you....
In reply to docwyte :
My apologies, I had thought that I sent you an email. I'll try again.
look at the shortie mount in the yakima boa kit (old one not the newer)... the old one was basicly a 10" tray... another option that is cheap is cutting a PVC pipe in 1/2 (into channels)...

I bought a set of the ten inch Thule ones, but they make it difficult to get the trike in the right position. Three long rails would be perfect, if I can find them.
