Hello fellow GRMers,
In an effort to increase my garage space, I would like to sell my extra Miata. It is rough, but it has potential. It has a 1.8 swap, a decent top, and only one kinda rusty spot. It also has a whole bunch of fun parts installed like larger front calipers, some bracing, hood struts, front fog lights.
I would like $450 for this gem. I have a signed title to go along with it (I didn't fill anything else out). The gas in the tank was really bad and killed the fuel pump. I bought a JY tank and hooked it up. I got it to kinda run (I made sure to change the oil before I tried), but I suspect the bad gas clogged the fuel injectors. It stumbles for a bit, and then stalls. No smoke or drama, and good oil pressure. I am willing to work with the price, so let me know if you are at all interested.
Oh, fully mine and very associated.
Ohhh.... I kinda want it. I have a few months to get a new DD going, this could be a good option. Only downside is that is a bit of a hike. Have to think about that one...
Hi - what condition is the interior in? Any pics? I’m trying to get my head around the scope of project. I’m about an hour from you. Thanks!
In reply to ManhattanM (fka NY535iManual) :
The interior is in pretty good shape. Crack free dash, unripped seats, uncracked tombstone.
I can get more detailed pics if needed, this is one I have on me a the moment. The inside has a gas smell from when I pulled the inspection cover off the tank, but I didn't actually spill any gas. It is missing the driver's door panel, but I may have one I can include. Of note, the driver side windows regulator is bad, but the window is held up via bungee cord. And I have had the car stored in my garage.

Now that would be a fun project! Good place to throw a 1.8L Miata drivetrain in.
Ok, I don't have an extra driver's door panel, but I do have a perfect arm rest to throw in... Feel free to swing by with what may be considered an insulting offer and take this away. :D
Random note: There appears to be a dead body in your first picture, left side.
Kinda looks like it is my wife, but I really have no idea why she was laying on the driveway!
If you still have it in mid-August I could see about picking it up on the way(ish) home from my honeymoon...
In reply to AWSX1686 :
Sure, keep in touch. If someone picks it up I will post it here to make sure the couple people showing the delayed interest know what's up...

Can you post a picture of your wife holding today's newspaper? Just to reassure the forum members you're not a murderer.
Hi, thanks for pic, sorry, I just saw your response. I will have to pass, as I just picked up a 2 wheeled project that may even get a build thread on here, my first! Good luck with the sale, you're selling "good bones" at a very attractive price.

Thanks! Hopefully this little machine can find a new home soon. I already have a working Miata, so this has just been sitting... Perfect for a LeMons build, Spec Miata build or something.

Crap, I'm in CT. But I don't have $450 to spare right now. I just came to bump my own for sle threads and started browsing.
I wish it was running, i’ll Be driving through CT tomorrow but in my brother’s minivan I can’t tow anything.

I could work with trades, of some sort. I love older computers from the 80's, and would really like an Amiga. I also could use a set of 15" tires for the Miata I'm keeping. Preferably with wheels, but I do have a set of NB 15" wheels I could put tires on. Just throwing that out there.

Hmmm, what specific size in 15" are you looking for?
All I got 80s PC is a A/T plug keyboard and an old IBM CGA monitor.
In reply to dan0 :
Looks like the stock wheels that I have will take 195/50R15 tires. Have anything like that?
This is way too tempting. I'm glad it's not August or September when I'd be able to manage taking something like this on.
