At a very uneducated guess I'd say the damage he talks about and what I've heard here might make this not such a 'great' buy.

I'd buy it just for the plate. The fact that they got that past the DMV is priceless!
That's a pretty good price IMO
I think it's worth looking at. Seems worth that in parts. Not many 944 Turbos for under 10k.
