Found on my local Craigslist this morning. I'm not sure if this is the one that a few people have made challenge cars out of or not, but it looks like a pretty darn nice car for $500.

Hell I'm tempted to buy it and I've been pining all morning about getting RID of cars, not acquiring more.
Engine and trans are shared with the 300z so 3.0L V6 with rear drive. The back seat is pretty cramped due to the short wheelbase and the intrusion of the rear drivetrain. Otherwise, a nicely appointed car that would make for a nice comfy commuter. Smaller than a Maxima which has the same engine though the Maxima is fwd while this Infiniti is rwd.
Recent Infiniti Challenge cars have been Q45's which have a 4.5L V8.
that looks like a REALLY berkin nice car for $500
Those had the 4.083 LSD rear end you need to swap into a s13 chassis. Bolts right in.

I could be wrong but back when I did this swap into my s13 I'm pretty sure I remember the s13 had the 4.something stock ratio open diff and the j30 had the 3.9 lsd. Also, unless you had the s13 with active rear steering or ABS (HICAS, right?) the j30 diff has a 3/4 inch or so longer input shaft because they mounted an ABS sensor on there. Some say the extra length can be taken up with the slack in the driveshaft and it truly is a bolt in affair (if you want or don't mind the slightly taller gearing), but the easy and better solution is to take the LSD unit and swap it into the s13 pumpkin to keep the better gearing and input shaft length. It is also a viscous type LSD. j30 diff alone is easy to source for 100-200 bucks, and i think all j30s had the LSD so it's a nice junkyard "swoption".
I'd much rather have a Maxima, especially 95+. Although these are cool with an engine swap. I saw a One Take with an LS swapped one...pretty sweet.

Just the other day while buying parts I saw a 300ZX with a Holset HX35 on it. Sad as it was bring parted out after hitting a guard rail. Now I'm putting the two together in my mind and thinking really dirty thoughts.
if you re-drill the front rotors to 4x114.3 (if you dont have the 5 lug car) you can bolt the brakes on as an alternative brake upgrade that is far cheaper than a Z fixed piston caliper swap for an s13 240sx but yes as a prior S13 owner the diff is a bolt in affair.
