Someone, at some point, thought this was a good idea.
Not mine, and zero affiliation.

I’m assuming it didn’t start life as a truck? It looks surprisingly well done if so.
I think it was the shag carpet "bedliner" that probably put me over the edge.
My buddy Sarisongroup had an uncle that had three mid-70s Fiats. Usually he could get one of them to start so he could get to work, but it was never the same one.

No title. Dammit.
No title...no problem.

One of these days I'll buy a title-free car on the cheap (because no title) and see if the "hack" above actually works.
I had someone ask me if I would do such a thing to a Fox body Mustang this week. I was on board until they said that they wanted a working tailgate. Also told him to check with the insurance company before first cut.
Edit: Turns out it is a thing

Always wanted to do that to a Metro and got very close in the mid 2000's when I couldn't find a decent used small pickup.

I'm about the furthest thing from a mustang guy but I'd drive the wheels off that thing!

Bingo! My brother had one, same color. This picture probably runs better than his ever did. BTW, I had 124 coupe at the same time. Both were nice to look at. That was about it.
Geo pickup in the works. Only a few pics so far but this is the one I always wanted to build
