Wtb challenge priced Miata for rallx near Asheville, NC. Would like to run SR so as stock as possible would be nice. Would prefer a manual but I guess an auto would work. Rebuilt title is fine.

I might have one that might work for you. Located in Waynesboro PA. Shoot me a text. 2six7 nineoh8 six7two5
Mr Chaos, there is a very green NA listed for $1700 on the Asheville Craigslist if you haven't seen it already. It has been listed for some time too, I don't believe the $3k offer. Green Miata
Secondly, I too live in Asheville and am curious as to where you plan to rallycross? I'm not familiar with any events locally and I've been part of Highlands Sports Car Club for about a decade. When I've mentioned hosting them I 've been shot down. Its something I'd like to try. Thirdly, if you are interested in autocross, check us out at HSCC.Club (apologies for the shameless plug).

I will run with etrscca they run at a place in Tazwell TN. The person with the green one just replied as I was making this post. I am also going to look at another one on Saturday.
I would be looking for one that comes with a hardtop unless you already own the hardtop since you need one for rallyx and it seems to be cheaper to buy the hardtop with the car than separate from it.
In reply to moxnix :
I can use the hardtop that's on my 95 M at the moment. It's impossible to find a Miata with a hardtop here since we don't need then here because the south. I will pick up another one or the carbon Miata one when a deal comes along.
What do you all think? The Green one is listed at $1700 with a rebuilt title and non original engine, a frankly ugly color with aftermarket steering wheel and needs a top. Or a 92 that has a clean title and is mostly stock listed for $2500.
Mine does have a hardtop too.
Also, I may be mistaken, but I think in most cases the hardtop has to be a factory hardtop for Rallycross.
In Raleigh at least I found a hardtop for 800 and that was best price I could get, had latches but two small cracks. Definitely try to find one with a decent rollbar/hardtop already and save yourself some dough. The thing is usually a hardtop adds 1k to the price and is worth about 1k, something to consider if you are trying to keep under 2k purchase price.
For reference, I bought a 99 NB salvage title with approx 150k on it on a 1200 dollar copart bid. It was near Charlotte and cost me 400 fees and 300 to deliver it. Fees could have been a bit cheaper had I been smarter
I just went through this... My advice would be to talk to Moxnix about there's if it still for sale. (Assuming it is, as it is a proven winner & ready to race)
SWMBO didnt want a miata or I would have bought it. See my thread below yours.

I was not aware that they did that, cool! I'd go with the 92. Hardtop ones do occasionally pop up though.
