Looking for an older small pickup. Preference for a Courier, but any 60's to mid 80's similar truck would do.
Yes, it's for a Challenge build, so looking for low buy-in. I know I'm not the only one looking, but figured it's worth asking in case someone who isn't comes across one. Doesn't have to run, but body and frame should be in decent shape. Closer to the mid-atlantic, the better, but willing to pay for/figure out transport for the right one if farther.
Why you should bother helping:
My dad retires after almost 40 years w/ Frito Lay in February/March. He recently had to give up his beloved '01 Ranger as it disintegrated around him. He's not a car guy, but he loves having a small pickup to run around in. I want to fix up an older more interesting one for him, do the challenge truck theme, then give it to him for being such a great dad to me and my brother. We're really lucky to have him.
Thanks for keeping an eye out!

Not bad. Preference would be for an older one w/ round headlights, though.
Most of these are pretty darn rusty by now or not challenge priced. Here's a couple of the better ones from the central NC area.
1980 Toyota SR5 $1200 obo

Its $275, jump that B
Where are you located? I can direct you to a junkyard between Atlanta and Athens GA that has a few Couriers
JStancel I would be pretty interested in that as well! I'm in Atlanta and have a courier, currently...
I probably should not be giving out my awesome source for old metal but I can't save them all.
A lot of the older stuff has been sitting for a very long time so make sure you really give it a once over before asking them to yank a car out of the woods.

If the older guy is working mention the guys that bought the cabover tow truck, Courier, and F100 bed. Then he will accept you as friends. If the big guy is working throw out a super lowball offer because he is most likely going to double what you say.

I've been chewing on it a lot over the past week, and I think I need to be more open to newer trucks. I'M more drawn to the older sheet metal, but I think my father would prefer newer for safety concerns.
The one Andy linked keeps calling to me though..
I can tell you first-hand (and you're probably well aware, anyway) that at least the 1st gens cause an adrenaline rush every time you get on the interstate. Wider wheels/tires helped feel more stable but you are well aware of the size of the truck (really, really small), the lack of retracting seatbelts, definitely no airbags, etc.. They're awesome for occasional use.

Love the term very rusty. Very rusty for a 86 Isuzu in NY wouldn't have a bed and much less of a cab.
I'm honestly surprised at how may of these you guys have found considering how badly these rusted and were used for work (not pleasure)
