Thanks, it is a fun car, quite different than the newer stuff.

Funny thing is the rebuild started as wanting to clean up and paint the engine. Since it had a good bit of blow by we decided to freshen it up. Then opened the can of worms. Whoever rebuilt it last time didn't know enough about Flatheads. The crank was turned .010, probably from a bearing problem, which is probably why they rebuilt it. They knurled the old pistons and installed the cam bearings wrong. They put the rear cam bearing in wrong, the larger hole needed to go up so the pushrod could reach the cam lobe, but they had the small hole up instead. They then ground the end of the pushrod smaller to fit. We had to deck the heads, intake manifold, and the block to get it back straight. At least it is all good now, should last a very long time.

The Flathead lives. Above picture shows it shortly before we got it running. I will try to get some pictures of the finished car this weekend.
