Sometimes the easy button is the right button.  Sucks that you had to fight the 'squirt for so long and never really got happy with it.  Which Brawler did you get?

670 vacuum secondary electric choke.

And yeah, it really does suck. But i feel really good about the simplify plan. Maybe even get my faith in the car back enough to actually drive it!

My debit card is melting....

Coolant drained. Megasquirt wiring 1/2 removed. After wiring, intake and such comes off.

Then new intake goes on.

Megasquirting my '77 Silverado kicked my butt repeatedly.  The Rochester, on the other hand, has been dead-nuts reliable.

I heard carbureted Dusters won't even spin one tire!

That's my hope here. Dads vette (same carb) has never been better. Heres to hoping my experience is the same!

Angry: the last burnout video HURT.

Glad to see the duster getting some love! Do you still have the procedure from MDL on bell housing alignment? I would like to avoid the carnage you had to endure!

You've spent more on car parts in the last 5 years than I've spent in the last 35.  One of us is doing it wrong, and it's probably me.

Curious what intake you got.  Looking forward to seeing it all back together.

Angry: its its cheaper than drinking or therapy! And its all side money. Not house money.

Pres: edelbrock tr5 from 1973. Think torker. It'll do, i believe. Worst case i don't like it and pick up a different intake.

If it gets you driving and enjoying the Duster then it's the best decision Hopefully the resale of the EFI parts makes it less painful.

Definitely less painful. Still hurts, but im not out of pocket anymore money to go back. Actually putting a little bit back IN the kitty from the sale. Ill do a budget update when im done spending money.

Its just a test fit. Gotta do a little more fitting and add a fan switch etc. Then it all gets bolted up.

Ohs: they just may....

Fingers crossed it works for you. I am one step behind with replaing the Fitech with a Holley street avenger.

What did you do for fuel? Regulator or low pressure pump?

I picked up a bypass regulator from ebay. We had used one on the amc challenge car to step down from an efi system to a carb. I figured it worked then, it works now.

And it was 35 bucks. Just took it apart, cleaned all the aluminum chips out, and modified the bypass poert by stepping up two drill bit sizes on ghe oriface. Figured that would give me finer control of the amount of pressure reduction. I didn't take pictures.

Summit order just delivered. Mustang customer on the way to pick it up. Heads and china walls cleaned in prep.for.new gaskets.

Next, drill and tap intake for fan switch. Then mount and begin plumbing and assembly!
