1987 Mazda Rx7 Build 2.0

Well im really happy with this turbo kit i got. Quick look, i think it will work in the rx7 with minor modification. After pulling out the nitrous kit and making my own driveshaft, i opened up over 400 in my budget which cleared the path for this kit. I also removed a few other things and freed up about 100 bucks. Really hoping to sneak into a 10 second pass this year in the drags while still.being at least top 10 in the autox. Fingers crossed the 3rd motor(and the cheapest so far) holds up!

3rd motor is in the car, and the hotside is hooked up. Down side is i has to remove the front sway bar... and lost the ability to go power steering. 

But boost!

Ok so i got a lot buttoned up yesterday except for the radiator. Wound up trading my c4 radiator for an FD one. The fd radiator is smaller and the ports are in different locations so i will avoid hotside piping. 

I have mapped out cold side piping but need to cut a few sections of the inner fender and mount the intercooler to start getting it plumbed. Hoping maybe i can start it today and potentially test it by the end of the week. 

Tonight, she ran for the first time...again...

Im very excited for this set up. I actually have the car sold and it will be picked up at the challenge, but until then, im going to enjoy it. Hoping to get some track time this week and button up the remaining small things.

first driving worthy tune is donee with help from Calvin. i thought it was appropriate to get creative with the boost gauge lol.

I think it's more about time finding parts and blowing them up and replacing them. Look how many engines Surfshibby has gone through. 

 $150-300 truck long block. Used cam/springs and a $50-100 transmission don't add up very fast.

This is the 3rd, and cheapest engine thus far lol. Also the highest mileage so im actually hopeful it will last longer, as ironic as that sounds lol.

shes a turd lol. it will be making its journey to texas once the challenge is over. i do like these cars though. if it were more complete and less haggard, i would have kept it and drove it around. but it wasnt worth it to me to put a t56 in this one. yours looks way nicer. 

Well sale fell through once it blew up. Car will be listed for sale soon on the forumn as a roller. Would like it to go to a fellow challenge participant. Just breaking even on what i have into the roller. Long story short, Will come with ls and trans mounts, fuel system, and a set of a7s on the included wheels. All for $750

How hard would it be to put an Lt1 and a t56 in it.  I happen to have one of each in my garage...

If the lt shares the same mounting points as an ls. Then very easy. It should drop in and the t56 should bolt to the trans cross.member i made.

I really wanted to guys, but i have so many cars currently, a remodel in progress and most importantly, a second baby girl on the way and due in November. I am just trying to finish a lot of what i have and consolidate the fleet a little bit.
