So after my 04 Spec V was totalled Jeremy(pimpm3) sold me a challenge ready miata, which was suppose to be temporary. Well I like the miata and enjoy driving it but it's to small to be my only car. I've always like Wagoneers and like the fact it isn't a common vehicle on the road(at least where I live). This 90 Wagoneer popped up on craigslist but the price was high. I watched and watched until the price dropped, then when it was low enough I went to go get it.

That thing is super cool! What are your plans for it?

1990? I had no idea they were still around then.

New ones were hugely expensive around that time.

The plan for now is a "driving restoration". I mainly bought it to be my fishing rig and to pick things up that don't fit in the miata.

'91 was the last year for them. I believe they were also the last Carbureted vehicle sold in the US.

Jesus H Christ. Prices on CL for Jeeps makes my head hurt. It's all over the map for any model Jeep. What gives?

Edit.... 5 minutes later. Doh, already answered my own question. Damn you, Breaking Bad. Contacted two Jeep GW for sale and one have her answer which was Breaking Bad as the reason it's worth that much.

I love FSJs! Congrats! I don't think my life will be complete until there's a Gladiator in it.

Justy was last carb holdout in the US.

Nice score!

Where are you located? Before getting too deep check the frame rail next to the gas tank. They like to rust out from the inside of the rail so if the outer is rusty it's already a goner. If that is good you're better off than 90% of the ones out there so get busy restoring!

Frame is rust free and the rockers are as well. It's a very solid jeep. The only rust is 4 dime size spots around the rear windows.

So I've gone through some things since buying it on the 30th. New shocks, tires, front sway bar bushings, and front brake pads. Michelin LTX MS2 in the stock 235/75/15 it will mainly see highway miles for fishing trips. I was tempted to get some all-terrain tires. What I really wanted were some white wall tires but none come in light truck tires. I put some Monroe Magnums all around, now it rides smooth. The sway bar bushings were practical gone so the new poly bushings made a big difference. I also put some Hawk hps pads up front, this made a huge difference in braking. I happy with the way it drives now.

If you think that's bad, don't look here, or here, and for dog's sake DO NOT look here.

Suffice it to say if I ever hit the powerball I know where I'll be buying my first SUV.

I had a neighbor that had a BadAss Wagoneer. It was all black, looked to be riding a little lower than stock and made some very good sounds. I've wanted one since then, I had no idea the money those things are bringing.

Coworker had a < 100k one that had sat for five years.

he told me he wanted to sell it and I told him I'd take it.

a week later he told me a guy had given him 500 bucks for it and driven it onto his trailer.

I was not joking about buying it from him... He thought I was... Still pissed about it. The interior was perfect and only had a few panels faded... >.<

That thing is great. Can't wait to see it towing the miata to the challenge. That one is much nicer then the broken one in st Augustine.

It has the tow package. 5000lbs direct to frame hitch, rear axle has LSD and a huge transmission cooler upfront.

My cousin and I bought a 79 model about ten years ago for the lofty sum of $100. It was very rough. We only bought it to steal the driveline parts for our trail jeeps. It had a 360 v8, th400 trans, and dana 44s at both ends. I remember driving it home (yes, we were able to drive the $100 waggy home with nothing more than a battery and fluid top off) and thinking it may have been the most comfortable riding vehicle I had ever been in. I mean like cadillac ride quality, and big old cushy front bench seat. I could have happily driven it cross country. I say excellent purchase to you good sir, and Happy Jeeping!

I've read/heard that Justy was several times over the years, Wiki claims Justy was one of the last "cars," Wagoneer was the last "SUV," but neither were the last vehicle, Isuzu had a carbureted truck until '94.

Wiki's not exactly a peer reviewed journal article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburetor
