That's it, color me a fan. Any plans for stock tail lights?
Yes, i have a set that came with the car. These are aftermarket junk and collect moisture like its no ones business, I'm glad I didn't buy them... I'm working on tinting the OEM's ;-)
This thread makes me want to take mine out of storage and drive it I picked mine up for nothing too, $900, low mileage, new shocks, brakes and exhaust all around. The 1.8 burned oil though, and the paint is really horrible! After lots of B.S., the KLZE is finally in and running..it stinks though, but doesn't throw a code. Hoping the straight necked manifold will help that issue. Next, some decent suspension and paint.
Well I realized I haven't posted a recent update, so here we go..... Today I'm gonna finish polishing my last BBS Wheel and prep the centercaps to paint. I purchased a DIY Autotune DIYPnP 52 Pin ECU. My cousin i assembling it for me and is almost finished with it, just gotta do the jumper wires. The car is quick, but I can just tell something isn't 100% so I installed a AEM Wideband to see what my AFR's are doing. Its goin to 10-10.3 at WOT, 12.8@ flight load on flat ground, and I get --- at an idle. I didn't realize the OEM ECU voltage input was 0-1v and the wideband is 0-5v so for now I'm running with no o2 sensor input to the ECU, but the AFR's are much better!!! I weighed the car and its 2440 with 3/4 of a tank of fuel and full interior. I'll probably strip it from the front seats back and with sound deadening removal I'm hoping to get it closer to 2100. Spring is around the corner so I'll be able to have the car at 100% before long. Can't Wait!!!!
Great thread! The wheels look great and the MS project should be a ton of fun. That trailing arm was scary...
I'm looking into the ZX2 S/R Bushing kit, What is the bushing behind the toe link called? I need replacements as mines completely worn out?
Bushing behind the toe link..... I can't visualize that.
The S/R kit should have everything you need but with a couple things you can't use.
1) steering rack bushings
2) Endlink stuffs
3) Swaybar bushings
4) LCA rear bracket bushings
Everything else should be the same.
Take a picture of what you're looking for, though... i bought the S/R kit and ended up using only two bushings out of the rear. (Hub end of ZX2 trailing links)
I don't remember if the ES kit came with those...
I'll be up at the garage on Saturday, i'll take a picture and bring home what's left of the ES kit.
The fronts i did use for about 5,000 miles, but they're still in good shape if you're interested in them + the rear stuff. Well, bear in mind you can't use all of the fronts, either. You can only use the front ones. The rear ones are MX3 specific in your case (and i need a set of those rear bushing brackets for my car.)
What brackets do you need exactly? I think the only other part of the ES kit I can use is the Front Control Arm Bushings? Whats my tally so far for the Parcel Shelf, Probe Centercap? I'll take those bushings (Front Control Arms & the Ones I need)
E36 M3 i dunno... We'll settle up after i figure out how to ship the parcel shelf. Shipping plus a few bucks, i'm not real worried about it.
You can't use all the front control arm bushings... only two i think.
I need the things 34-46X and 34-46Y from a 92-94 MX3. Apparently my bushings won't fit in the Escort bracket/cages. Escort cages are too small. (This is also why the ES bushing that goes in that bracket won't work for you. The other one might, though.)
The bottom one is what I started all this with..... After MUCH sanding... Turned into this----> They look Black, but are actually a GM Dark Otter Pearl.
Urethane to Redo my Engine & Trans Mounts
Also here are a few pics from my AutoX last Sunday...
And a Few Random Pics.... Close Up Under Hood.... My "secret" Paint Solution, the whole car will be done in this...
Goin tomorrow to geta friend to help measure and get a list together on what I need to make new Rear Toe Links!!!
Toe Links ordered and beginning Prep for paint. Luckily for me I don't have alot of body work to do. Yesterday I started wetsanding and removing peeling pain on the Front & Rear Bumper Covers. Also snagged a JDM Rear Wraparound Spoiler for $20 from a guy with a Blown up KLZE powered MX-3 = :-) Hopefully I'll have my MegaSquirt up and running shortly too!
if anything it'll get a GS lip as the kid I got the spoiler will more than likely let me have it cheap!
Tomorrow I'm gonna move my gauges to that Pillar Pod I got, and hopefully shoot some primer on her! I put that Parcel Shelf in as soon as I got it home, WAY better than mine was!
I spent yesterdat workin on the rear suspension. Both rear wheels had play side to side and I had a very rough time diagnosing it. I finally figured it out.... Here's the culprit... See the gap from the steel sleeve to the bolt head? The LCA bolt had seized to the steel sleeve and it was making the bolt tight, but not drawing the bolt all the way through. Repaired both sides, and installed some new tires. Its a totally different car now! Now to get that MegaSquirt up and running and shoot some paint!
