Ive been meaning to start a thread on this for awhile.
A few months ago I was at a project crossroads. I wasnt really happy with anything and I was feeling overwhelmed. Fast forward to now and things are much better. The RX7 found a great new home, the Jetta is off to a new owner and the Jeep is running (if not driving quite yet).
Around this time my sister started bugging me to go look at a Civic her neighbor was selling. I told her no multiple time because all Civics in Michigan are rotted but she kept bugging me. Finally I went and found a majorly riced out POS looking car.
Here is the picture I was sent to try and entice me to buy. Its Craigslist ready!
I asked for some better pics of the rust and was sent this. My curiosity was peaked.
I went and checked it out and was surprised at how solid it was. Its been years since I saw one as rust-free as this (I dont spend much time in Atlanta ). But it was covered in ricey goodness. We came to terms, I let him keep the sweet chrome wheels, and I brought it home. All 70ish CX horsepower of her!
Pictures of the day I brought it home. All rice intact!
Nice, what are your plans? Was this purchased for challenge money (God, I hope so, no one should spend over 2 grand for ANY car with ICP stickers on it). Youve had it since there was snow on the ground, so obviously youve had plenty of time to photo-document the RWD LSX conversion, and are just taking your time editing the posts for the rest of this build thread, right?....RIGHT!?!
That venturi tunnel rear bumper is almost tasteful...almost
Not surprised that it was owned by a Juggalo

It looks like a solid car to start with with all of the previous owner "features", I hope you didn't spend much, you'll have a lot to undo.

I still miss my 93 Si badly. Thanks for "saving" another from the grim fate that it certainly faced. This statement still applies if you decide to make it a lemons car with some horrible theme and crash it into a wall.

I had no idea that's what that red sticker was. I've seen quite a few around Pekin and assumed they were just some goofy looking runner's sticker.
I believe you're on my lawn...
That body kit is bad, REALLY bad! Hope you can get it make to some sort of normalcy and have some fun with it!
The body kit was actually for sale on here after I took it off. Some kid from Craigslist came up from Ann Arbor and bought it for 20 bucks. I thought it would have been perfect for a lemons/chump car.
Hatchetman removed. I also removed all the pimptastic mirror tint but dont seem to have a pic on my phone of it.
Thanks for saving it. Now make it do this;

After ditching the body kit, and while hunting down stock replacements, I removed some more of the old owners mods. There was one of those alarms that used an electronic key to start. I removed it along with the racing pedal covers. The neon light in the back seat was also removed.

The features were not really too bad. I saw alot worse in my dealer days

It should be running around on an EF in Ann Arbor by now
Mrs Logdog is taking the Fiat to Kentucky for Rolex. I figured I would drive the Hooptie (she named it) to work today. Here are a couple more pics.
This is the sweet low-output 8 valve. Notice the JDM overspray on the distributor. Thats Swag.
Kinda hard to hate on the motor when its this clean.
Also note the high performance drums and suspension. Alot of people cant tell the difference between standard CX stuff and ultra rare JDM-only Swag master parts. These are clearly identified as the latter because they are red.
Wow...looks like somebody was sniffing the paint before they used it!
I really didnt do a good job of taking pics over the last couple weeks. One of the front headlights was damaged so I got a new set from amazon and replaced them both.
You can see the 500L in thr background
Here it is with stock bumpet covers. The front was spray painted by the guy I bought it from but it kinda matchs. The rear is white. When my father in law comes down from Maine in a couple months, we are going to do the little bit of rust repair this needs and I am going to finally paint a car. Maybe I will do that roll on Ive read about
My favorite mod, thanks to input from the Hive
I also added some Integra seats I had
I couldnt resist getting a personalized tag. My wife named it.
See that exhaust? Thats swag!

I had a 92 CX from 2003 to 2007. GREAT little car. I routinely got 45mpg out of it on the freeway.
Bought it for a grand with 112k on it (she had NO idea what she had) and sold it for a grand with 192k on it.
Replaced it with a 95 EG DX with a d16z6 swap and a bunch of performance goodies on it, which got stolen from my driveway 2 weeks before I was going to sell it.
I have no idea why the PO bothered with a header on that sad little engine on yours, logdog. Good luck with it. I hope it treats you well.
In reply to gamby:
This is my second CX. The first one was also a ricer rescue but was way worse. It had a painted interior and everything I had to clean up. I have no problem returning to stock if the buy in is right.
I dont know what the header/exhaust is all about. Its the lowest output engine they had that year! The car is so light though, its still a fun one. It makes me feel like a young hooligan driving such a slow car with such a big exhaust. It is surprising quiet though.
