I bought this truck about 6 months ago. 94 GMC SL, 4.3 V6, Auto. under 80K. Was one family owned, maybe one owner, doesn't really matter too much I guess. Clear coat is shot, looks no where near as nice as this pic makes it look. Was really wanting a 1st gen S-10, but anything decent was always sold before I could get to see it. Would have preferred a short bed, but if I ever buy a house the long bed will be more practical - I keep telling myself that anyways.

After getting it home, started on some minor repairs. First was unplugging the blend door motor, I think that's what it's called. Stopped the banging noise when starting/stopping the truck. Bought a replacement, but looks like a PITA so saving that for a day I'm completely bored. Next was the cab mount break light. Gasket was toast, and have to by the entire light to get a new gasket I'm told. So got a $25.00 aftermarket one. It came with no gasket at all, and on top of that was warped across the top. Was gonna return it, but instead made my own gasket and mounted it up. It works and seems to be keeping the rain out. I hope. Dash is decent, radio sucks, seat is clean and comfy, just hope I don't break the foam down on the bench from sliding myself in and out of it. Tossed out the steering wheel cover. The arm rest/door pulls need help, new ones are pricey. Headliner and sun visors are roached. Need to hit the you pull it I guess.

I missed not having a truck for the last 4 years, so enjoying this one so far.

Needs new shocks all around. Plan on doing that and replacing the lower radiator hose this weekend. Front tires are generics, rears are ancient wranglers with cracks starting in the sidewalls and between the treads. I plan on getting better tires soon. Hoping to get some 73-87 white steelies and same era GMC dog dishes and do it all at once, but not having much luck on that so far.

Not looking to hot rod this, nor do a bunch of exotic mods. Just something fairly simple, cheap, and reliable, hopefully. Certainly more enjoyable to daily than my Chevy Cruze, and helps keep miles off that.

Not any time soon. But would make it a hair easier getting in and out.
