Haha yup, that would be the one. There's something about it that I just keep coming back to look at, but I know it would burn me. The immiediate issues that jump out is the paint, obviously, and the cracked up front bumper which I am sure is nearly impossible to find in Aero trim. Interior looks decent.
My sister has a '96 CSE that I could take for free, but doesn't seem nearly as fun as this.
I never really paid much attn to these cars until I saw yours ... Now I am searching craigslist for them, lol.
Looks really good!
Haha agreed. I offered to trade my 944 on one a few months back, but the seller backed out at the last minute. I think my boxer would much prefer riding in the backseat of a 9000 than my 944.
Wow, that thing is WELL worth saving. Especially for the money.
This paint fades like crazy, but comes back with some work. That one may not come back 100%, but could certainly be MASSIVELY improved. Good 9000 valences ARE hard to find. Especially Aero ones. But the CS/CSE ones do mostly fit.
This is what mine looked like when I bought it the first time.
And this is after my first ever go at polishing. By hand.
And the results from buffing a friends equally single stage red SPG:
Point is I wouldn't be too scared of the paint on that one.
Got up today and decided it would probably be a good idea to get the 9k ready for winter...
First up, the front splash shields no longer fit due to their shape interfering with my IC + plumbing. Since I don't want my open intake sucking up salt water all winter, I picked up some corrugated plastic sheets at Lowes, like $17 for two 30x36" pieces.
Traced the stock pieces onto them...
And stuck them to the car! Various bracket-ey things made out of... recycled materials. (used plastic licence plate frames).
Not pretty, but should do the trick.
Then threw on the snows...
In other news my unknown miles stock clutch finally lost its grip on the stage 3 torque, so I'm back on the stock ECU until that gets taken care of. Feels so slow
