then it looked like this
After hooking up the little crap that was left I pulled it out and cleaned up. took it for a 40 mile cruise to check it over...
was a good day, only had to use the cutoff wheel on one bolt and the lift makes things simple!

me too, I still regret selling my 76 f100. This things always fun to cruise around in, old people tend to smile and wave and hipster teens make funny faces at it!

pic of one tire smokey burnout as proof is needed.
I vote for a 351 O/B to 408, and your choice of tranny. The C6 is about as reliable as you can get, simple, and with that many cubes, who needs to row their own?
Liking this build.
rebuilding the trac lok sucked. Reminded me why i paid someone else to do the last one! Its done but only one photo since everything was covered in gear oil and its 35 degrees out. On the drive home from my friends shop i was getting some noise from the passenger rear drum. Seems to have gotten some brake dust or rust stuck in it today.
Taken from outside while using the sun too warm up. if my friend wasn't so private about his stuff theres a lot of cool projects filling this place. you can see the nose of two of them!
So you posted pictures of a sundance, mentioned a turbo van, and posted a picture with what may be a lebaron in the back.

Sundance was mine. This guy is the local turbo dodge nut. The lebaron is actually in the middle though and it was his van we used to pick up my rear axle lol.
As of 1130 am today ( sunday) I can verify the posi is indeed incredibly tight and functioning really well!
Well the posi is holding up but I think we may have rebuilt it a little on the tight side. Do any of you know a good place to source headliner backing material? Most of my cars have been gutted so ive never had to figure out how to make a headliner!
Hancock fabric sells headliner material with the foam made to it. Most colors, at least close enough.
Ive found vynil top adhesive to work the best for glue.

Is his name Austin?

he said you would know who he was. Yes it is austin, that sundance was his moms before i owned it.
Yeah I checked where you were and figured it was him. I've only met him once, but he's on our turbo dodge forums too.

i dont need the fabric i need the backing material. what came out of the car was too crumbled to use.

Yeah he recognized your name when i was posting here. I think turbododge is the only forum he uses!
Looks like the 8.8 has too come apart again. might have went a little too tight on the clutch packs. after 400 miles im getting a very unhealthy noise on tight right turns. Nothing like I would expect. thinking maybe the overstuffed clutch pack is pushing the axle into the rollpin
Well no photos but switching to 85-140 gear oil seems to have solved the problem with the rebuilt posi making noise, had to fix an oil leak inside the car thanks too the cheap sunpro plastic feed line cracking. But ive mostly just been driving the car and being immature. 4 tires in a month and just over 1300 trouble free miles.
looks like im going to get to warranty the power steering pump. im terrible at taking photo's but its mostly just been slowly sanding when i have time.
dropstep wrote: 4 tires in a month and just over 1300 trouble free miles.
So that's like, what, 16 cents per mile for tires? Seems reasonable.
actually its only .03 cents per mile. tires were 40 for the set from a junkyard. i know how i act so i dont buy new very often.
i currently have a torn lcl so work is limited to what I don't need to bend my knees for....so before the rain today I did some more sanding after looking over my new rusty winter beater.....
Once again I remembered I hate bodywork of any form, even sanding but im cheap so ill get it done slowly! Already have someone who knows what there doing lined up to paint it if I ever get it ready. for now it got more rattle can
have to get off my ass and pull the front trim after the kneel heals. next Saturday though is exhaust and a gas tank strap for the new beater.
so i had aquired a rusty 99 escort zx2 for a winter driver but today it went away for this.
85 ltd wagon. 3.8 auto. its in better shape then i expected so im not 100% sure yet but most likely it will lose its headliner, carpet and perfect rear seat for the 78. then ill daily it in the winter. cars solid other then the driver front door and rust starting on the 1/4s. needs exhaust, rear brake lines and tail lights.
