Nice. GoPro picture?
It's from the Duel last year when Eric S. set his GoPro on top of a course cone.
The picture is a screen grab from the youtube video.
Just a list of things to think about fixing before the National Challenge in a couple weeks:
When you say national challenge, are you talking national championships in Tulsa? I'd love to see another GRMer there.
Placed second in MR at the National Championship this weekend. I was in first at the end of the first day and up until the last two runs today. The E36 in MR was behind coming into today but he had about a second on me each run and slowly pulled ahead. My shocks are blown and on the rough course I just couldn't get any more speed out of it.
You looked considerably faster all weekend and I was very surprised when they called you for 2nd. Car looked great and you were driving great.
Safe travel home. Mike (in mustang rental)
Thanks Mike. I think it had something to do with his new shocks vs. my blown ones. Once we had a high-speed extremely bumpy course I couldn't put the power down as well. It was a lot of fun either way.
Very cool. Congrats! Some local rallycossers were oogling over a photo of a (famous?) rally Supra at the Nationals, but I noticed your car in the background of the photo.
I was all "OMG that's Kosmides' old rally car!"
But looking on craiglist for E36 M3s now. Anybody wanna buy a GTI? How bout an RX-7? I got watches, car stereos, you name it...
It was great driving. You might be part of the reason I'm thinking Miata. It was great meeting you this weekend Evan. Next year in Nebraska?
Evan, since all I did at nationals was watch, I thought I'd let you know that the black Miata in SR was by far the most composed of all the Miatas. He wasn't the fastest, and maybe that's why, but whatever shocks he was running were doing a very good job of controlling the car while still allowing good movement over the terrain. Your car on the other hand was fast and constantly looked like it was uncomfortable being attached to the earth, especially the rear.
Yea I realized after the event that my rear bumpstops are completely split in half in addition to the shocks being blown. I know what I am spending money on over the winter...
