Rustoleum sail blue?
EvanB said:It is definitely more blue now. The first coats of paint went fairly well. We could have done better on the body work but at this point it just needs to be done. I will put another coat on in a few days then it is time to reassemble and get it on the road.
Looking GREAT!
You're going to need some yellow paint & wheels too

Tcp global restoration shop reflex blue. Not as light as i was hoping but i think it will look alright.

I definitely need some yellow now that i have seen that picture.
More inspiration:
you'll need one of these:
Just spent way too long trying to find the TV commercial from the 1980s (maybe 1990s) of some new TV technology that had a blue screen when it was turned off, and the commercial was just people walking around the TV saying "...It's blue."
Jonathan almost didn't paint his Fox its original green color because it required yellow tint, and apparently this can be ruinously expensive. So, er, rattle cans of schoolbus yellow are fairly cheap at NAPA.

With general adolphus and an 07 on the side.....
Swedish dukes of hazard ute!
It is starting to look more like a car...truck...thing. We spent some time yesterday putting it back together. The interior still needs to go in along with some trim and headlights. Then the bedliner needs to be sprayed and a windshield put in.
I also verified that it still runs!
That's either one BIG Mazda logo or this project is on a slightly smaller scale than I originally thought.

You haven't seen it up close...

The paint is easy, doing the body work so it doesn't look terrible under the paint isn't.
In reply to EvanB :
Oh, I know. But I always considered the paint part to be hard, too. I'm an expert at orange peel, runs, and failure to stick to whatever I'm trying to paint. Which is why the RX-7 looks so crappy. It would look 10x worse if I tried fixing the paint.
how bad is visibility with B pillar at driver's face? or is that an illusion due to the seat being all the way back where some 9 foot tall Swede would sit?
In reply to AngryCorvair :
I could be wrong, but I don't think they moved the B-pillar at all.
Having driven a 240 for a while, I don't recall ever having an issue with the B-pillar getting in the way of visibility. Might just be an optical illusion.

That is the standard seating position in a 240 (for me at 5'8"), you don't notice it when driving. The back doors actually seem longer than the front, I have never bothered to measure.
It isn't noticeable when driving.
Regular 240 driver here. I am 5'10" with a 32" inseam and I drive my 240 with the seat only one click forward. How 7' tall Swedes ever drove them is beyond me. No, the B pillar isn't noticeable unless you think about it, and you have to be aware of it entering/ exiting.
This is a beautiful creation Evan. Have any of you seen the render somebody made of a V70 Ute? I'll save you the 4 seconds of googling:
If the SAAB ever gets finished, and maybe before the 242 project really goes full swing I want to try to make it real. Granted as far as I can tell the front clip in this render isnt off a V70, i own a welder... This thread and all the Volvo utes of the internet make me hopeful that its doable.
