Well, had to replace the AC belt that was COOKED by the failing compressor. Then took a nice drive in 94 degree humid swamp weather to really test on the air.
Success. Froze myself.
Turned into a beautiful night for a cruise.

Well had some belt slippage again. 2 new belts from Autozone and Napa.
Put the Delco belt back on, and its perfect. I guess newer isn't always better. 100 miles of ice cold comfort and not a single noise. We're gonna call it fixed.

Went out to a cruise night tonight and had a blast. Was sure nice driving there and back in ice cold comfort! Lol

And finally got my new tires mounted (old ones were from '89) and an alignment today. What a difference.

Got bored and hopped in the '75. With a paper map, and the only rule being no interstates, I headed NW from Chicago to the beautiful driftless region of Illinois/Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota. 600 miles later I had a wonderful day, made it to the Minnesota state line before heading home.
Car got 12/13 MPG, pounding up the hills with the AC on, and ran excellent. 8 track player kept me company..
Got to put the new tires to good use, and am just shy of 17k on the odometer now.

Time for front brakes and bearings!
Started to get a squeal, more likely a bearing noise here and there on a left turn or light braking. Decided to replace it all just because I'm in there.
I did save the rotors and pads, they looked dammed good and still had markings on them, think they are the originals. Was pleasantly suprised that my replacement rotor/hub had the races pre installed. Pretty nice. Just Murrays/O'Rileys house brand stuff for the brakes, and National Bearings/Wheel seals.
We had a bit of a fix it day at my buddies house. My other friend was swapping seats in his 2011 Crown Vic. I was wearing my GRM shirt of course
Still amazed at how clean this car is for 45 years old!
And that was that. Quick and easy. Stops fantasic, no noise, I'll call that a good day!

Absolutely nothing exciting to report. Just enjoying the fleeting summer and piling the miles on. AC by day and heat on at night time of year and both are working great.
