Some of you may remember my S10 from this year's challenge. I have had it for 2 years and it has been great. It has made runs to home depot and has helped me prepare for two hurricanes.
I liked every thing about the truck, and was poised to install a t56 lt1 combo that is sitting on the floor in my garage, but there was one nagging problem dogging me... I am 6'4" and don't fit comfortably, and there is no way to correct that problem.
When a buddy offered to buy it that got me thinking, what could I replace it with?

I started thinking the 1995 c1500 parking lot build would work. Now that I fixed the brakes and put wheels that fit on it it isn't terrible.
The problem with that truck is it is so low that any load in the bed would make it bottom out. That and I plasti dipped it. It worked for the challenge but I wasn't feeling it for a truck I was keeping.
I think I’m jumping the gun... is there more?
So you bought a 1967 _____________?
If my El Camino is totaled and you're thinking about getting rid of the Silverado let me know

Sorry was in church. Back to the story...
So I was sitting on the couch looking for interesting trucks when I stumbled across a 20 minute old ad for a 1967 c10. What peaked my interest was that it was a a 5 speed manual with a fuel injected 350. It has no rust other than a spot on the front of the hood and AC!
I contacted the owner and agreed to make the 100 mile drive to look at it the following day.
So without further ado here is my new truck..
The seller even threw in a set of c5 corvette wheels!
Soooooo, is the LT1 combo going in the Volvo wagon? That would be awesome-sauce.

In reply to Indy-Barely Functional-Guy :
Possibly. I have a lead on an lt1 with a 4l60e combo for $500.00. I might keep the t56 and lt1 to use on something else and put the other lt1 in the wagon keeping it automatic.
I was wondering last night if you got it. Didn't think you wanted a text at 12:30. Looks nicer than I expected for the money.

Love it. Looks really nice - but not too nice to use for truck stuff...

TIFTFY they all rust, its there, you just cant see it (yet).
I sold the one I was building in disgust when I discovered the rust in the roof from condensation between the welded layers of the roof structure.

I am selling the c1500 from the parking lot build. Call me and we can discuss.

Sweet! You and BobCougarZillaTheReallyOiledGuy need to line them up and race.
I will take the c5 wheels and t56
i don’t think i have anything left from my 68 except a power brake booster bracket setup but you got that covered.
Nice looking truck! I'm also a fan of the swb stepsides.
I see that you've got a disc brake swap already on there. There's some work saved.
Nice truck!
Looks to have 5 lug swap, power brakes, aftermarket a/c and someone has converted the ebrake to '69+ style.
Nice truck! I'm glad they included the additional wheels...not a fan of those that are on it now.
Lucky Costa from Hot Rod Garage recently bought a '67 C10 shortbed. He's only posted a couple videos about it, but if it's like the rest of his projects it will be pretty cool when done. You may want to check him out every so often for any updates: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsAaakmE0dAtG7AVFb7oUEA/videos

Yeah the wheels on it now are terrible! I will find something more appropriate as soon as I can.

...so I bought some better wheels. I scored a set of 5th gen ss ccamaro wheels with 70% matching p zeros off of craigslist.
It needs to be hit desperately with a lowering stick now..
Hell with static. It needs bags.
I'll even volunteer to help.
Very cool, love the stepsides
