Pretty sure I lost a shoe just looking at this pic
I'm thinking you'll find the separate rooms a good thing. I like to build engines in a different room from where I'm grinding and welding.
I guess you didn't want to pour the floor first.
There is a program that Menards runs where you show them how much tax return money you received, you give them that money, they put it on a menards gift card with 5% added on top.
They dont care if your state or your federal was returning money or even if you paid more on one than you got back on the other. Just show the one the return.
Hmm, you know, now would be the time for the car sized in-ground pool that you could fill with Evaporust. You could have a false floor over it to stage items on so you could just use a simple chainfall to dunk and extract.
It'd cost more than the rest of the garage to fill the pool at gallon prices, but I'm sure you could get a bulk discount
My plan is stop buying rusty E36 M3, Pete. The mustang is gloriously rust free. The 57 isn't bad at all.
federal tax refund got deposited today, that's covering almost half the building cost. Takes the sting away, and makes carli ok with the fact that i'm getting a lift too because i'm doing this one time.
In reply to Patrick :
I'm thinking of the Devin, although that might be okay in a kiddie pool. Or maybe an extra large bathtub.
In seriousness, I finally started using my Metal Rescue and it's amazing. Mostly just dropping rusty fasteners in the small plastic bins that the meat market sells BBQ pulled pork in. Within a couple hours they are clean.
I probably know the answer to this(lazy dont' want to got the WBURG thread) .....but there is a two post lift in the original GROSH right?
No, i have no lift currently. Ceiling up there is 8'6". Looking forward to less laying on floor and bending over.
Which places the two post in the 'new' arena.....correct? with the proceeds from the Impala....oh and another bathroom remodel....
Off work tomorrow to accept roofing delivery. Still no concrete. It was below freezing last night so I assume that's why, but their communication has been less than ideal through the whole process.
skyline fund update:
previous $2150
-$230 investment in stuff to resell
$1920 total.
We have a concrete guy sighting. They came by today to check the site and said they should be back Tuesday morning weather allowing to gravel and pour.
the $230 investment in stuff to resell may be mostly sunk. The higher $ things in the lot were broken, and I'm keeping some of the other stuff. You take your chances with auction lots. Last time i bought a household one i did really well. I'm thinking this is my last one, as there are now 2 local stores doing the same thing but selling the stuff dirt cheap, so i can go dig through their stuff and buy to sell versus me taking the hit if stuff doesn't pan out.
roofing delivery successful. Sunday looks excellent so my friend Dee is coming over to help after she kicks ass in her Krav Maga class. She and Sterling Archer are the only two people I know who do Krav. I don't mess with Dee
also ordered LS swap pan for the 57 so I can stuff my LS1 into it when the garage is done.
The fire pit will be roaring tomorrow those breaks between roof panel install eh?
What are the specs on your LS1.....bone stock? for now?
Somewhere north of 400hp with a full comp cams cam and valvetrain package. Nice street engine.
currently internally debating purchase of a $1200 forklift to do all the heavy lifting of installing lift, building a loft, moving heavy stuff around, moving materials for house, and lifting stuff up to the house roof when it's time for that. It really sounds like it would save well over $1200 in pain and suffering as well as time.
Working on roofing
lift ordered. In a couple weeks I'll need help getting the Devin out of the trailer and into the garage onto wheel dollies so i can take the trailer to pick up the lift.

Lol, only Dee I've ever met is currently wondering what I'm laughing at.
She doesn't do Krav Maga, so I have some chance of survival, but its still best not to mess with this one...
As always, let me know if you need a hand!
No more roofing left on pallet
some flashing and trim and it's done. I went a little overboard with the flashing tape under stuff but I don't need to deal with leaks ever so i tend to overdo prep work for roofing.
back is ablaze so I'm not going back up there today and may take off tomorrow because Abby is sick
