Building department pain in my ass has lead to an architect being hired to do everything and just give me the E36 M3 to submit.  So many rules changed in 2018/19 that my 10 pages of detailed plans were nowhere near enough, whereas in 2017 we built an addition for a customer with a simple 3 page hand drawn application.  Really stupid engineer E36 M3 that I don't need to know.  They can eat me as soon as i get my final inspection because i'll never have to get a permit again.

roofing showed up this morning so i got up there.

I'm trying to rationalize the roofing stopping short of the overhang in front. What's up with that?

Porch roof that is part of the permits i am waiting on.   Transition piece to the different slope is there, will just need to slide the porch roofing under it, install the foam sealing blocks, and fasten the transition piece to the lower roof.

WOW that is cheap!!!

I used to do the state inspections for some certain nursing home clients.  Some of the requirements are hokey but the rest is no joke.

That's the missing piece of the puzzle! Sorry to hear about the plan review hurdles. I'm pretty scared of what surprises "new permit projects" bring for me locally as well... Local authorities didn't update for a long time but in 2020 they turned the page and have a ton of new regs. Terrific.

(After looking at all the photos with curiosity I think I really need a drone shot to understand how the driveway and new garage are oriented relative to the house.)

Trailer.  Last time you saw it, it was hanging off the forklift.  When i got it home we noticed one of the axles was only attached to the frame on one side and the other 3 points were crunchy.  So i flipped it over onto some wheels and fixed it.  There were a couple perforated spots in the frame, it's generally ok and the steel deck is giving it a ton of strength.  I went around the whole perimeter under the existing frame with 2x2x3/16 tube and tied all the axles to that with 2x2x1/4 angle.  They're torsion axles so they were already solid mounted.  Now they're extremely solid mounted.   There is some cosmetic stuff and i want to fix the end of one ramp, but it's back on the wheels and super strong now.  Set the AHP alpha tig up with the stick welding stuff and burned through 4 containers of rods.

I was going to say that while you had the trailer flipped it would be a good time to add ramp holders. A buddy built a car hauling trailer with an angle iron frame underneath to hold the ramps in it was a pretty slick setup.

This one has ramps that slide right out the back.  Very luxurious compared to my old one with the angle iron ramps that you had to manhandle every time.  One ramp needs the end fixed a bit but they work.  I reinforced their slidey rails while i was under there to keep it that way.

Mentally I'm attempting to come to terms with the fact that i have some pretty severe anxiety issues and am an empath and everyone else's feelings get at me.  This morning sucked.  I have lots of trouble with phone calls, I usually don't pick up unless it's my parents.  It's just as bad making calls, i sit there and freak out and usually don't dial and shut down.  This is why i prefer texting.

so this morning started at 4am super anxious, never fell back asleep.  Had to go do a service on a window i put in last year, freaked out the whole time because the lady is old and has new grandbaby staying with her during the day, going over every place I've been in my head the last 2 weeks paranoid I could take covid to her.

when i got there i found this

The sunbeam door in the bed tried to escape out my side window somewhere along the line.

so when i got home i got to make a new one from polycarbonate.  Bummed that it's not tinted because i keep lots of tools in the truck for work but it was on hand and the same thickness as the glass one.

i wish I could just go away and lay on the beach for a month and recharge my batteries.  Normally i'd be doing just that right now, we always stayed in Florida for a week after the challenge and I'm really feeling the effects of not getting out of town at all since last October.

I'm with you on the anxiety and the phone calls. I used to have it real real bad, I would put stuff off indefinitely if it required a phone call. Still kinda struggle with it but with the anxiety meds I'm on now, I can at least sometimes buckle down and get through it. Sometimes.

Sorry on the window break. Simple automotive window tint film should be able to quickly get you back to dark.

You're welcome to come here & lay one the beach, but it's probably underwater right now, so you may want to wait a day or two.

So this stay at home scenario was eating at me also.....what did I do...I went and picked up Curtis73's  66 bonneville(Unca Paul's old sled) and shlepped it to BW Gateway Grand into Curtis's eagerly awaiting trailer. Left the next morn....met Stampie, WAE, EastsideTim, Pimpn3, Hobiercr (for a brat) ,NancyG, john Brown, Travis of "rollavalon" fame.....woulda liked to stay but I did the slow crawl back to H'town via B'Ham. Spent a lot of time thinking....and observing how folks /society is coping......while nursing the rig home with a funky clutch and a coolant leak ......late
