“Bought not Built” isn’t really how this works...
Plenty of building going on here, not sure what you're on about mister AngryHandmodel
Michael may be taking a break from Darth Nader but he cracked the whip on me. I have a free on the side of the road filing cabinet that may be a close enough match the Nader's black patina. Michael made me break it down before I brought it to him.
You may recognize the before from it serving as the trophy workbench.
Half way there.
Three harbor freight cut off wheels later I'm done.
All I'm left with is a cabinet size dead spot in the yard.

Probably won't though. Too much like work.
Yeah but don't you have that ole country painter that paints a car for like $40 or something?
Stamps....to what level do you expect MichaelC to 'finish' DNader to? Are you prepared to polish this to your discriminating standards once in your possession?
In reply to 759NRNG :
I'm laughing at "discriminating standards". Honestly I think he plans on doing way more than I expected. We both love the patina so hope to keep it. What we've discussed is cool patina outside, super clean detailed inside. Since I'm in Florida I will add the AC back in if we can't do it in Challenge budget. I'm not looking for a car to drive thousands of miles a year. I'm looking for a car to win the pickup line at school on Fridays. Something I can go to shows and put a please touch sign on. Something that my neighbors hate me for because they think I'm the crazy car guy on the block.
Can Mike build a car to his standards in 361 days? I havent known him as long as yall but the Miata WAS an '18 build you know. Yall may need to leave the date open on that bet.
Much love and jealousy (wish i could do what you've done) Duster, i just know your little details have little details

Honestly, dunno if it'll be 2020 or 2021. It'll be done when it's done. I plan for this to be my mona Lisa ....

You know they just found Leonardo repainted Mona Lisa like three times. So maybe it'll be like 2025.

Dusterbd13's art is bad ideas...and he's about to paint his masterpiece.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
You should have seen all the bodies i drew it up with before coming to the corvair. It was the least berkeleyed up to work with. Somewhere probably in the garage are my pages of notes and measurements.
1st time duster hit the challenge he had 1 car in the top ten.
2nd time he had two cars...
I think he's going for 3 top ten builds in the same year!

On nader: went to the junkyard today. Amazing how many ls trucks are showing up there.
However, i cant stomach almost 30 bucks for a coil and 4 plug wires. Gotta be a cheaper option.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
I've got a spair set of truck coils that I got as part of a lot of way too many parts I don't need all of. I might be able to help. No plug wires though.
