I live in DeLand, and commute to work in Daytona. I have an 88 Chevy truck with a TBI 350 that's pushing 350,000 miles. I just had the transmission rebuilt and I'm thinking about several options, including a basic short block and rebuilding the heads, or with some new vortec heads.

Any suggestions on a machine shop in my area?

A little out of the way, but I've had good luck with Twister Race engines in St. Cloud. Here's the website: http://www.twisterracingengines.com/home.html

A friend of mine highly recommend these guys. Apparently friendly, fast and inexpensive.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not that close to making a move, but I need to look into pricing the work. After that, the biggest question is what to do about tuning the TBI if I change heads, cam, displacement, etc.
