so when do you think the control arms will be done and in? I definitely have more appreciation for the earlier corollas (pre AE86) after reading that - its beautiful!
thanks......
the bushed ends should be here next week, I'll have the original arms shortened and install the adjustable components, once in, I'll set camber to -.5
There is always somethign good at http://www.build-threads.com/

Hot Damn...Yamaha powered LMP style locost, built at home, from scratch.

I think the builder is this guy:
I really love this build. Been a bit slow going but so awesome

S2000 powered Sunbeam Minx. I wish the guy had spent some time with a string computer and got his suspension properly sorted but the car is just so damn cool
Luke at SaabRally builds a historic 16 valve "B" motor... Very impressive work. SaabRally
Not really grassroots, or even performance.... but this is some of the most ridiculously awesome workmanship i've ever seen.

(Yes, it's an audio build, but still....)
Or my V12 MGB-GT build thread that is now a V8 MGB-GT build thread:

I lost all interest in this thread when (around page 20) he started making "boomerangs" to go around his stock brake rotors.

Keep reading... he revises them and ends up making them into true dust shields.
Again... this isn't a performance build, but merely OCD levels of attention to detail and some incredible workmanship.
But i figured some here wouldn't like that. No worries, I'M certainly not offended.
In reply to Mezzanine:
The "shutter" he makes for the rear seat/arm rest pass through is pretty damn trick!

Can I post my own build thread?
I like it. Can't wait until it's in my garage. Looks like it will hit the five-year mark (next May) before that happens.

My all-time favorite build thread was the McBearen.

I have to add one of my favorites. It's no longer a valid link but it exists on Wayback internet archive site:

Its floating around out there on several forums, but the most recently posted by the builder (Brian G) is http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4662626-The-complete-guide-on-casting-parts/page11&p=67722479#post67722479

Midlana. Mid-engine two seater with a strong Lotus Super Seven slant. Basically a Seven adapted to use modern FWD powerplants.
Honda Powered Kid Buggy
Not really the norm around here, as this buggy is a pint sized rock crawler. Guy built the raddest little 2 seater buggy for his little girl as a Christmas present.
Mid engine FWD Honda 1.6l and trans mounted longitudinally, spiders welded, no transfer case, drive shaft for front and rear Samurai axle are driven directly off of modified CV axles.
I remember reading this one in real time, and checking in on Christmas day for his daughter's reaction. There are continued updates of modifications, and the girls continuous improving driving skills, including videos of her flat out getting it, and showing up other "professional" drivers.
It is Epic!
This Corrado track rat thread HAS to go here:
http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3030108-Project-Track-Rado-Tons-of-Pics/page1
This is a little different than most build threads. Most include OMFGAWESOME hi res pics of the build, list the trials and tribulations of dealing with a less than stellar specimen, creative solutions to unforseen problems etc etc etc...this has all that. But then, there are post after post and vid after vid of the on track action the car sees, along with incredibly detailed posts about each event the car attends. What an AWESOME thread
