So my project needs a motor. As i was tearing the old motor apart, i see some lobe damage. It has the HOT cam (i was told but haven't pulled it yet).

do i go back with another HOT cam or somthing else? Hard to get suggestions from people who are not drag racers.

Mostly be doing autocross, but maybe a few track days. 350, not a stroker. 195cc patriot performance heads.

im not class limited. Maybe cam T.

Best to contact some of the cam manufacturers for recommendations.  Let them know what you were running and what you are looking for now.  There is quite a bit of info on the web for the LT1 as well.

Last manufacturer was saying I'll need to know what I'm expecting. Or needing.

seeing that i didn't have much run time, i was not sure what i needed myself. So I'm asking.

I'm guessing a wide powerband is important and somewhat higher RPM so i don't need to shift as much?

It depends on how much you are wanting to change. The LT1 can handle moderate cams before it needs springs, valve to piston clearance checks, larger injectors, etc...

Links to couple older discussions on the LT1/LT4 hot cam and substitute cams.

I like the GMPP LT4 Hot Cam Kit in mine.
