So, does that mean I should try to find a sub-$2000 Buick Grand National?
I mean, I should do that anyway.

Because of reaction time at the drags? Or because it would be badass?
Either way.... Yasser!
I'm gonna turbo the 3.9 rx8 and paint 1/2 the intake as a six from the grand national.

Yeah, I know, I just figured if I do any more drag racing and try to work on it, I can remember where I started.
As evidenced by the lack of a for sale thread, Guac's fate has yet to be determined. I may have found a friendly place to stash it which solves one of the big issues.
I also now have a better understanding of how FMV recoup works which has opened up a lot of room in the budget.
IF I keep Guac, I also now know what I would do for a second Challenge appearance and I haven't really stopped thinking about it since it popped into my head.

Oh, the illness is real. On my very vibratory drive home I already created a plan for next year.
If I bring the rx8 again, it will be a little lighter, a lighter more power, and a little more tested. Plus, the ac will work better, it will not vibrate, Bluetooth for my phone.... etc... etc.

GNs used to be seemingly half the field at Norwalk test and tune nights about twenty years ago. It was always amusing to hear them start to brake torque to build boost at the first yellow... second yellow lights up, third yellow lights up and the other car takes off, GREEN lights up and they are still sitting there slowly working up the turbo...
Then a few seconds later they're off and invariably pass the other car somewhere around half track
It used to be a thing to get wheel cylinders from a manual brake S10 Blazer (those existed!) to keep the back tires from spinning. Good times
The little white cans of awesome sauce travelled from Florida to Michigan, then were consumed while i started Guac'ing the Cruze.
It was only fitting.

You don't just say that sort of thing without pics..
Also new saying.. "So anyway, I started Guac'ing"
replaces "getting sawzally up in here" when I am cutting up a car.

"... so I got this car for half a Steve, and it had totally Avaloned which is why it was so cheap. So anyway, I started Guac'ing on it..."
to be continued...
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
1/10th of a Steve at best. I was paid $500 by the insurance company to not total it after it was vandalized, I tried to sell it to a local scrapper for $250 and he refused, yet took a crusty non running parted 89 C1500 for that price, I then advertised it in FBMP for the same and it did not sell. I will claim $200 FMV and honestly that is high.
