reassembled enough to tow dolly home. Paint was still softer than we thought, so theres a spot on the drivers side cage to touch up from pushing. Some spots got missed, and will be rattle canned or brushed.
then finish paint the underside, and start reassembley. Brake lines first. I believe the car gets built around the brake and fuel lines....
Looks sweet! Tractor paint?

The first permanent reassembley: bulkhead fittings.

Yep! I added a triangular plate on the engine crossmember to frame Junction as a mounting point. It's technically a top column drop/support but I didn't see any reason I couldn't use it as an intermediate support. There's also the firewall support bearing.

I couldn't delete one earlier this week. No idea what happened there.
Last night munchkin and I cleaned up my shop, laid the tarps down, got the box fans out, and got the car in the air to fine tune the paint before reassembley. Then i spent 30 bucks on spray paint.
Pop quiz:
You wake up at 4:00 a.m., don't have to be to work until 7:45, and can't go back to sleep. What do you do?
If you answered " go down to the shop and turn on rancid and offspring, and paint the underside of your race car" congratulations! You would be me this morning. Underside is ready to get floor and tunnel shield on this evening, and then I can finish painting the missed spots on the cage and frame. Going ahead and cleaning and painting all the suspension and check-in joints and everything while I have it apart as well.
