How about a mini trailer since I don't really have any go fast projects as of yet... Since everyone likes pics, there is a lot of them, with a little text scattered about in them.

Built this last year to support my summer camping habit, With two 100 lb dogs and a kid the truck got packed to the gill in a absolute hurry. Wife was working out of town and I needed something to keep busy with. I just happened to get a bunch of half pieces of 2x2 tube from a friend and decided it was trailer time.

Sorry in advance for the pics. Welding smoke messes with my camera in the dark garage.

Blue tape mock up on the garage floor. I had a bunch of 22” tubes, and a few ~10’ pieces. Turns out 48x48 works perfect with my camping crap.

Got rims from a friend who had changed sizes on his truck. 17’s match the two vehicles, so I can rob the wheels and tires off the trailer in an emergency. With tires and frame size figured I ordered an axle. 3500lb axle, matches my trucks track width, with the softest springs I could find.

Untitled

Untitled

Built a removable coupler, its shared with my other trailer, and I can get a multi axis coupler eventually. And its harder to steal with no ball on it….

Untitled

Cut a bunch of pieces and spent my lunch break using the welding table at work. Having access to tools is awesome… I don’t own a welder of chop saw….. Yet.

Untitled

Spring hangers going on.

Untitled

Ready to tow and finish in the evenings at home. It bounced…. A lot.

Untitled

Untitled

Sides going on. Just tall enough to clear two boxes.

Untitled

Untitled

Welding on tabs for the plywood side inserts.

Untitled

Untitled

Fender brackets. I ordered them online and got impatient waiting for them to come. Welded the brackets on without the fenders… Luckily they fit.

Untitled

Tail gate with latch mounts.

Untitled

Untitled

Getting a coat of POR

Untitled

And then we make lid.

Untitled

Untitled

Prefinished Birch ply for the sides. Rustoleum enamel paint. Of course as soon as I paint it the wind kick up and blows crap into it.... Oh well

Untitled

Untitled

Frame gets a satin rattlecan top coat.

Untitled

Wiring. Just did a 4 pin, I was trying to keep the trailer light, but may add brakes at some point. Love me some tech flex.

Untitled

Untitled

Fenders finally came, they fit, thanks to the dude who reviewed them on amazon with dimensions! Got POR’ed

Untitled

Untitled

Wood got bolted on, and polyurethane caulk was used to seal it to the steel.

Untitled

Untitled

Tail gate was finished with a piece of stainless sheet metal. It was a old door kick plate I had been holding onto for a couple years.

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Built some brackets to hold my Maxtrax

Untitled

A sheet of aluminum for the top. I was very temped by all the road work signs as they would fit perfect….. But my wife didn’t like that idea….

Untitled

Gas strut went on also. And my favorite local group….

Untitled

Tongue storage got worked on. CL special piece of diamond plate. Guy had is sizes wring in the add… And was an hour drive each way. It was close enough so I said F it. Hence the square tip….

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Fancy tailgate holders, and latches on the top.

Untitled

Untitled

Mud flaps, since they are technically required for inspection…. They have been torn off a couple times already.

Untitled

Rolling out for inspection!

Untitled

Untitled

Shakedown run! So nice to not have the inside of the truck absolutely stuffed, my daughter could actually get out of her own door instead of climbing out the front doors….

Untitled

Untitled

Its been all over the state with me last summer, stuffed in lots of ditches trying to turn around and had been great! I was trying to keep it light, it ended up at 540lbs empty, which is great. I may add brakes still at some point. My truck is heavy enough as it is.

A few pics in action.

Saw a glimpse of the Winnebago and realized you're Java from ExPo!

Could you put your shelf on slides so it comes all the way out and you have clear access under it with the lid up?
Fantastic work by the way, and which RTT is that?

That's me. recognized you too! Unfortunately with no snow this year winnie hasn't gotten much use. A couple quick trips and a long one up thru BC

Thanks! Not with the way the action Packers stack in there. I'm really just going to make a "cubby" to be able to get chairs in and out without unpacking everything. Think 6" tall on the right half of the trailer (from the back) I've got the ply just need some time.

It's a CVT tent. Most awesome.

What's the story on the tank?

Thanks!

We just happened across the tank, didn't know it was there. Did a bit of research, the DOT uses it for avalanche control. I guess there is a second one somewhere else around WA.

Thanks, no real fab skills.... Its a piece of angle iron and some bolts. I did weld together the basket! Lol

A rack is on my want to build list...
