Mud motor quick build

My best friend pilotbraden on here has been going through a tough time recently. You may have read about it. We decided prior to all of this upon receiving some free Honda motors to build a mud motor for a John boat.

we started with making sure it would start

i bought a kit on the bay of e for this type of motor. ( or so we thought). Turned out the out put shaft was slightly larger than standard on the free motors. Brad luckily has a friend that punched the center of the coupler out and made it go smoothly.

we proceeded to drink alot of beer and continue progress.

we may try it out tomorrow. we had alot of fun today though.

I will say the UPS man asked why i was having a box labeled kkk droped off at my house. it must mean something else in Thailand.

Mud motor = motor with a long shaft?

That is what we call them here. yes a long tail motor. i like the prop on the one in your picture.

yours looks to be some kind of v-drive. The one we did is a direct connected shaft drive.

Not mine. Shamelessly hot linked. I read the title and thought Mud truck but got confused upon reading. How shallow are y'all running?

mostly weeds to get to duck hunting spots. that is the thought so far. find out more once we put it to use.

I've started whole car builds on the same premise.

I was glad i got to spend some time with my friend and get a quick project done that can take his mind off what he has been going through. hopefully we can get it out on the water tomorrow and continue that.
