1982 Porsche 924
Sadly, not the real Martini 924
But, reproduction stripes are available.
My plans are:
- Tune the microsquirt setup
- Upgrade brakes, suspension, and wheels
- remove the stickers and DIY wrap it something different
- Eventually engine swap it. My current options are Audi 20V 5cyl, Audi v8, LS, or 951 engine.

Autocross first then hopefully get it on the track at COTA if I'm cool enough lol

One of us!
Maybe slap a supercharger on that 2.0 and enjoy it for a while?

The Audi V8 requires a lot of work to fit as the oil pump sits right were the rack and crossmember is. Not to dissuade you, but its a consideration. There's ongoing threads on the 944 Hybrid forums:

A non-turbo 20V (The 7A I believe) makes 170 hp and will motivate a 2300lb 924 quite well and with the narrow body it should have a decent terminal velocity compared to its curvier younger sibling the 944. Its the same swap except without the heat generating turbocharger.

Here's a rare Audi I6 being used as a swap:

Whatever you do, pay close attention to cooling whatever you end up with under the hood. Venting the hood properly will help in addition to ensuring the air flows through the radiator/coolers and out of the engine bay. If the Miata can manage their cooling with some appropriate mods and a 5.3L under the hood, the 924 can as well.
Anyway, going to 5-lug and 4-wheel discs will be nice just to get away from the manually adjusted drum brakes among other issues.
Lots of upgrades above and beyond the stock single piston calipers, vented rotors, springs and dampers. Lots of time to sort that out once you get things driving again and prioritize the list as you see fit.
and to pimp a fellow toofah forum member's ride:
The carbon fiber ITB runners were a nice touch, to say the least. Hopefully he updates the thread again once he stops playing with his other project:

Thank you for all the links and information. You've already helped a bunch.
Didn't you state in a different thread that you knew someone with Audi 5cyl swap parts?
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
That one is an SE I think. The interior is black and red with one exhaust pipe. I think the one you're referring to is an XSE.
It's my roommate's car. Most definitely boring to drive.

Ah ok. When I was younger, I would dream of cars with red leather interior, full glass roof, and 4 exhaust pipes. Nowadays a camry has all those things. Thus I thought you have one.
Following for your P car content and of course the Jaaaaaaag!
Also didn't know you are in SA. We were there first week of March, as a friend of mine bought a house in Terrell Hills and finally finished a 2 year reno. Would have checked out your jaag, had I known!
Keep up the good work on the P car

Jack Higginbotham, Ed’s Dad. He’s a bit busy with COVID stuff at the moment, but he’ll ping me when he’s up for dealing with selling the parts.
With as light as the car is, the 7A would probably be pretty fun. The AAN or 3B on the other hand would be a riot. Even my lowly 10vt MC1 running MS3X with the K24 turbo pretty well maxed out at 22psi makes right about 300hp at the crank.

Finding these engines isnt too easy. But what's the potential of the 10vt?
The 10vt engin came in 2 varients in the states. The MC1 has lower compression and a single knock sensor from factory. The MC2 had slightly higher compression, and 2 knock sensors from the factory. There is a debate over which one is better.
My personal experience is with the MC1. These were found in the Audi 5000's. My engine has a ported and polished head, oversized exhaust valves, high rate springs, and Ti retainers. I'm also running a k24 turbo, turbo back 3" exhaust, and fully sequential MS3x. Like I said before, at about 22psi, I'm at around 300hp at the crank. I have been told with a better exhaust manifold and turbo, I could easily hit 400hp at the crank. After that, I will need to either run e85, or water/meth injection.
The problem with the 10vt is it's a counter flow head. With the exhaust manifold directly below the intake manifold, you end up with A LOT of heat soak. When my new manifold is done, I'll probably have it ceramic coated to try and combat this. I also think I should have the downpipe coated as well. I regularly melt my poly motor mount on the passenger side.
I should also probably mention that I hit 22psi at about 2700rpm. That is with a minorly cracked exhaust manifold. Unfortunately the manidolds on these are known for cracking. I have repaired mine once before, which is why I'm having to build another.
Don't LS swap it. BTDT and it's a huge PITA to truly get to run correctly and mega $$$. I wouldn't do the 951 engine, at that point you might as well just buy a 951. It's also going to epically suck at auto-x because that motor has serious old school turbo lag. Well, so do the older Audi motors like the 3B, AAN or MC1/2.
If you want to auto-x this car, keep it NA, or do a 1.8T swap...
In reply to docwyte :
Tell me more about your LS swap efforts. Why wouldn't it run correctly? And what cost you the most?
As far as lag, that can all be fixed with matching an appropriate turbo and parts + tuning.
I know nothing of the 1.8 lol
I'm not sure what engine I'll eventually swap, I'm just brainstorming that. First I'd like to get the 2.0 running decently.
