Okay, okay. It's really my son's Halloween costume, but I figured y'all might get a kick out of it.
He's three years old and loves his monster trucks. One, in particular, really strikes a chord with him...
So, armed with this knowledge and sheer determination, I set out to make him a Halloween costume that he'd really love.
I scoured the Atlanta Craigslist to find the perfect vehicle to begin with, but conveniently found it right in my own home...

I find it's best to start with the straightest, most rust-free box you can find for the money. This one happened to be just right.
I sectioned out a piece of it to make the basic shape and cut holes in the top and bottom...
Here comes the spray bomb...
...and then a little freehand airbrush...

Voila!
Initial reactions were positive. I still had the wheels to build. Stay tuned...

This is awesome. I was just reading about Cooper-

and

And trying to figure out how to do something similar. I have a plan....... but it won't happen this year.
You take it off any sweet jumps?
Wicked awesome. Grave Digger was my favorite monster truck when I was growing up.
He's already crashed it into some stuff and dented it up, lol.
For the wheels I cut out cardboard boxes into circles...
and then wrapped them in trash bags with newspaper crumpled up in between...
Instead of military spec five ton axles, I went with broomsticks cut to length...
I grabbed some bungee cords and hooked them onto the axles...
They serve as suspenders...
I drew the haunted house on the moon with some sharpie markers...
Some paper circles painted silver for wheels, and some duct tape windows, and the Grave Digger is ready for some candy grabbing adventures. Happy Halloween!

That is awesome. My kids would have loved that at your sons age. good work!
Very cool. I made my son an excavator in the same fashion when he was three. I love Halloween.

Awesome. Don't forget the flag off the back end and some 'safety gear' for the 'driver'!
I forgot about the flag! Thanks, RossD.
He's got a black "fire suit" ready to go.
