Glad to see the progress on this.
Me too. This whole week has been a nightmare for me personally but I'm pushing forward and keeping on. Saturday was busy, friday was busy, so sunday was my "go all out" day.
This coming weekend I'm helping a friend prep for the festival of cars and taking his murcielago for him. I worked on the car and did a tuneup and brief inspection, and it was an honor for him to ask me to take it for him, so i am extremely excited.
I'll work on my car sunday, but saturday is, "holy E36 M3 i get to drive a murcielago for the first time!" day.
woah...a lot has happened over the last week. Super stoked to hear about the progress youve made.
Curious about the A-arms. Are they Jalpa specific or are they used in other applications? I cant imagine that Lambo A-arms are on the shelf down at NapA-dvance-oReily-Zone.
Unfortunately it's one thing I haven't been able to cross reference. so I have really no idea if it's used on other things. It's an odd looking setup.

Figured I'd share this up on here, the festival of cars was amazing. My friend got 3 awards for the murci and the new RWB car. Driving the Murcielago was amazing.

Long time lurker, created an account just to give props to the OP for the Rocky IV reference in the thread title that seems to have gone otherwise unnoticed for two years and over 50 pages of responses.
Amazing car, btw.

Not many cars make a man giggle like a little girl. :)

There's no short road home...
Ok guys so here's where it's at. Car is off the stands. Suspension is in, axle shafts in, all lines double checked.
Currently working on:
- Brake hyraulics, found a booster and master thanks to a good friend, heading there tomorrow to pick them up and we'll finish fabrication on mating it to pedal box.
- Clutch master, which is done now, needs mated to pedal box.
- finishing up wiring in the interior, wiring in the rear is done. need to then fully mount bumper, it's kinda just hanging by a few bolts while i run things.
- put interior in and go drive.
So so so close, i haven't seen it this whole in quite some time. One of the local GRM buddies I met locally several years ago, Trevor, though I don't know his GRM name, came by and saw the car today and I started it up for him. It's close close close!
Cool...this is really getting exciting!
I might have to ride over to Central OR soon to see this beastie!
Just went thru all 51 pages. Amazing build. I did not know heads in that bad of shape could be fixed.
Caliper rebuild kits are here, fab work on booster almost done. Need to get back calipers taken apart they are being A PAIN. Then I can drop them off for powdercoating. Closer.
Well, E36 M3. Running into clearance problems with the clutch master. Made spacers so I could use a different master cyl, and that's not working. It actually is hitting the brake booster. Going to see if I can maybe disassemble and sleeve the old master cyl to reuse it. Sucks because it seemed like the perfect solution!
If I adjust the rod for the booster way out to the end and space it, it clears, but still puts an ever so slight amount of pressure on the master, which is no good. Need to have some distance on travel otherwise it defeats the purpose.
Going to see if rebuilding the master is an option, might have a shop that can sleeve it. The other issue is finding a kit that'll replace those seals as they are hosed.
Here's my alternative, I need a clutch master cyl with the following:
57mm from end to end on holes for mounting (flexible as I can make it fit)
22mm bore (bigger would be OK, smaller no.) (7/8")
14mm of protrusion (this is flexible by a little, but not much)
I'm currently searching to see what i can find.
Two outlets or four?
Non ABS (1" bore, 4 ports, comes with resevoir for 46 dollars)

ABS (1" bore, 2 ports, master resevoir NLA).

Ford thunderbird MC. The resevoir is NLA for the ABS version (2 ports).
The full master with 4 ports (non-abs) is avail with the resevoir. Not sure on the protrusion but it "looks" close.
I can check when I get home to my bird and see what the dims are (that you can get to w/o taking it out of the car)

Should only need one port for a clutch master cylinder.

Am I seeing that you either get the choice of putting on a rear license plate or having a functional backup light?
Or does it not really matter, because you can't see anything when backing up the car anyway?
In reply to Karacticus : If ever there was a car that needed a back-up camera, this is the one...
In reply to Mad_Ratel :
Those both have the bolt holes to the left/right of the plunger, not above/below.
The clutch master in my Volvo is similar to this one:
http://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderList.aspx?group=GS Compact Integral Master Cylinder
Corsepervita, you sure the on center distance between those studs isn't 2.25"? This Wilwood part is patterned off of the very popular Girling one used on tons of different euro cars (including Volvos). Some quick research indicates that Lamborghini used Girling as an OEM as well, so it might be the same.
Edit: Looks like the Miura uses a Girling MC that's very similar to the Volvo one, so this may work.

It has reverse lights in the bumper (which I finished wiring up last night, just aren't in it yet). What you are actually looking at is a hide-away license plate setup with a "zapper light" that was put in by ultrasmith. The intention was to have an incredibly bright light to be a distraction in the event of a car chase.
Obviously not something you're going to do with such a car. it was more one of those things that ultrasmith did for people with a lot of "berkeley you" money. They did a lot of miami-vice getaway car, james bond-esque modifications to supercars. One of which was a Countach with night vision so it could cross the border at night with no lights because.... "reasons"
They were also very popular for people who wanted hidden firearms in cars. uzis in steering wheels, compartments that folded out in doors, slide out compartments. Hidden stash compartments that looked stock. They did a lot of uhhhh, interesting stuff.
Found a NOS setup on ebay. Bought, no guess work.

Why did my brain suddenly, and irrationally, jump to the conclusion that Ultrasmith had Uwe Gemballa as an stakeholder?
I don't see much info on Ultrasmith and some of the modifications they've done. Seems like it'd be an interesting read though.

I learned this stuff through speaking to the owner of ultrasmith. Him and I have talked over the phone about my car. There's not a whole lot of info floating around on the internet about Ultrasmith unfortunately.
Head #1 re-torqued tonight. The edge where it was leaking was pretty damn loose, off about 10-15ft lbs from what I gather. Everything else was gold. I gather that may have been the cause of my tiny coolant leak on the edge of the head.
