The Diablo master cyl is a direct fit. Only change that need be made is to use the rod from the original since the diablo vt roadster master is about an inch too long.

Last bit of prep work going into the floor pan for cleaning then it's time to put the carpet in. This is hopefully gonna come together fairly quick. Tonight I should have most of the carpet in.
Pretty exciting stuff! I'm sure you're stoked to drive it again, it's going to feel so nice with all the new parts and improvements.

While i've driven other lambos, i've never actually got to drive this resto. So once this is done it'll be my first drive in it. I'm stoked to say the least. Got some of the carpet in tonight. Interior is starting to go back in. Gonna try to finish the majority of the carpet tomorrow, gotta wait on vinyl to arrive to do the carpet with trim.
Dash might go back in tomorrow depending on progress, likely the seats. Pedal box as well.
At this rate, as long as the hydraulic situation is a go, I should be driving in a few weeks if I keep the momentum up.
Went ahead and did another check on the head torque tonight and moved it up 5ft lbs from the previous spec. Hoping that "cures" the leaky head issue. Not concerned with the combustion chamber, those rings are super thick. The walls of the heads though, not so much.
Asked around and apparently the reason for the light head torque (55-60ft lbs) is because the heads themselves are sand cast. Yikes.
retorque did not fix the minor leak issue. ran the car to operating temp today and am going to see if it reseals overnight.
Not a fan of additives but my machinist recommended one, ran car to operating temp, did a little tuning on the megasquirt. 2 days later... head gasket leak appears to have stopped or massively slowed down. What a relief.
Also got most of the carpet in. Vinyl arrives tomorrow. Sewing machine is out and prepared. Going to cut the majority of what I need tonight so I can make everything nice and snazzy and then sew the rest of it up. Should have most of the carpet in this week. Friday is busy and thursday i'm headed a city over to go work on a 911 so most of the work will have to wait till the weekend.

Great!
Dash is in, pics to come soon. Vinyl should be here today for carpet trim. Still gotta finish up the calipers. It's coming together fast.

Awesome! Can’t wait for the drive report/cool Italian V-8 noises...
I'm very excited! I still need to get the calipers done and off to powdercoating so I can get that part done. Headed to the hardware store to hunt down some hardware/fasteners for the interior because I'm not a fan of reusing rusty old crap parts. I'll sometimes vinegar bath stuff but if that doesn't clean it up then it's time to move on lol.
The other current hangup is i'm still waiting on my friend to bring back the brake master cyl. He's pretty busy, but I'm in "OH GOD I WANNA DRIVE IT SO BAD" mode.
not even close to finished but here's a few bits. the main power cable needs to be relocated.
one seat is in, carpet is almost done on that side. Driver side door is apart since i need to rig up the window motor still.
Cut the rest of the carpet tonight for the side pieces, vinyl is here, going to sew the trim onto them tomorrow.

Judging by the dual wiper blades (circa 1990) I'd venture to say this ride hasn't seen the road in about 25 years or more.
I had those (in red) on my TR7 back in high school..... oh the memories.

You're probably not wrong.

There is a few companies that still make them for the purposes of nostalgia. But I don't plan on putting double wipers back on it, they're just on there because that's what was on the car when i got it, and wiper blades are sort of the last thing on my mind right now haha.

What additive did you end up using? Always curious of snake oils that work.

My old confused memory is that Lamborghini's came stock with them and the rest of us wanted to have a Lambo so we put funky double wiper blades on our cars.

Some weird pioneer product that is like a little cube that's apparently organic material. Stays active in coolant and makes a weird seal that almost looks like a black rust when it hits air and metal. I'll see if i can get the exact name.

interesting, i am not sure to be honest. i'll have to ask one of the old timers in VLG.
Getting there. Got some very nice egyptian cotton to sew with today and got out the new enormous roll of vinyl. So far so good.
So some time ago I bought some window motors out of a Porsche from a friend. When I showed him my window motor (he restores porsches) he went, "holy crap I think I have something that'll fit."
So I sent him my window motor so he could play with it, and sure as E36 M3, he found exactly what I was looking for. With some slight modification, I have combined the two of them and made a half Porsche, half Lamborghini window motor setup. The Porsche internals and gearing is THE SAME as Lamborghini. But I can snag these for about $100 out of a used Porsche, rebuild them easily, and upgrade the stock motors.
Why spend $1500 per window motor when I can spend $100 to rebuild them and make them better.
The wiring and internals and winding on the Lambo motor are far thinner, much weaker. The Porsche motors are very beefy internally with better winding. The result is a LOT more juice you can run through them. The Porsche window motors always seemed like there was a ton of drag on their rails so I suspect they were made that way to compensate.
But on the Jalpa? They're super quick, snappy snappy snappy.
