Thanks everyone.  I gotta say it feels so damn weird.  I'm still having a hard time processing it because it just feels too good to be true.  Like 4 years ago when I saw in it I just felt super overwhelmed like, "Am i ever going to finish it?" And now it's driving down the road.  Still needs some stuff here and there, and all the little crap at this point.  But it's still weird to register that it runs, drives, it's alive, and nearly done.

Like a weird moment when I was a kid and wanted one, then I got one, then I started working on it, and now it's almost totally completed.  It's still sinking in I guess.

I've got a friend who has offered to detail it for me, at least work on the paint that is.  And then friday another person is coming over to get some professional photos of it.

In the mean time, I'm going to keep working on the little crap.  During the drive last night I felt a bit of a weird surge to the right, so I'm going to double check the suspension, links, and tie rods just to be on the safe side because it made me go, "hmmmmm."

I don't know if you're asking me or GRM.  But if you're asking me I'd say go for it.

I was asking you.  Just wanted to make sure it was okay.  GRM will like it because we are linking to them in yet another fashion, funneling more interest in their direction.

Yeah absolutely, go for it!  I'm glad you all enjoy it that much.

Look close at the tires on the right. Pressure, roundness, looking for busted belts, etc. Old tires can do weird E36 M3.

Your build has me craving to find a derelict 928 or something dangerous like that.

+1 I was thinking the same thing.  Even if they are in okay shape, just sitting will do weird things to them until they get used long enough to warm them up and get the flat spots rounded out a bit more.

That's why i only took it down the block.  I won't be going further than that, and new tread is on the list for this week.

A 928 is downright sensible compared to an old Jalpa. There's tons of info out there and parts are still freely available.

You're not wrong.  Even those are getting harder to find parts for but finding parts for a Jalpa takes a lot of time.

This is so epic, congrats on the first drive!! So admire how you focused on details when it would have been easy to just slap the last 10% together and drive it. Grateful your dream is being fulfilled... enjoy!!!
