The R1 powered Micro Car is getting very close to being drivable, at least around the block! I cut and reshaped one of the front fenders today as it was preventing the wheels from turning both left and right. I knew that if I left the repair until after it is drivable, that I would get too anxious and try to drive it anyway. So...

For some reason the wheel opening on the left side of the car was 1 1/2" smaller than the one the right side. I cut a long pie shape out of the front half on the wheel opening, pulled the two pieces together and welded it back up

It is fairly easy to determine the year by the serial number. It is stamped just to the upper right of the gas tank. Slightly up and left from the vent that goes thru the fire wall and directly below the wiper motor. I don't recall the site, but it was easy to find which serial numbers belong to which year models online.

Fyi, my friend just found his serial number exactly as described but on the other side of the car. Both cars were originally left hand drive.

Just caught the walk thru on the shop .....holy crap, that is the quintessential example of SBADD (sleeper build ADD). I know I'm a PITA, but I gotta know how you rigged the reverse in the AutoB.

The reverse is not done yet. I can post the link to the electric reverse on the V8 Hijet if you want

Great to see updates again!

I have been posting car video from my recent trip to Cuba in the GRM Trips and Adventures forum.  This is the last video in the series. My wife and I took a ride in a 1955 Desoto Convertible Taxi and interviewed the Driver along the way.  The Taxi is powered by a Toyota Diesel engine...not my build...but still a build of sorts.
