Pops got moved to ICU today. Liver and kidneys are damaged, he's on 60% oxygen mix, a whole wack of machines pumping fluids in. Heartrate and blood pressure have been out of wack, not enough blood pumping to sustain him otherwise. Doctor says "he's not likely going to recover from this."
The correct gas pedal should arrive this week.
Damn. ReconFam will keep you all in our prayers.
The things with your dad sound like a lot to deal with. He's lucky that you're there.
The truck looks great from here. The colors really look good in that last picture.
'07 van pedal arrived for my '07 van PCM. Just need to put the van pedal guts in the truck pedal I have.
Positive vibes at you and yours.
Working on stuff can be a sanity keeper when you have family in the hospital and you're doing the waiting game. BTDT.
Truck looks amazing!
Van pedal guts made no difference. It was just like the '08 van pedal I already have.
I had to repin the pedal so that it had two 0-5V sensors instead of one 0-5 and one 5-0 in order to get it to work.
Drove around the block, and it dropped carrier again.
Just now ordered a TAC module from Rock Auto. Their GM TAC for the van is ONLY for the van, whereas the part number the local GM dealership told me was the same for everything BUT vans. Frustrating that the "Pros" who have all the info at their fingertips and should know better can still steer me wrong.
I'll let you know when it gets here.
GM dealer told me that I needed TAC module #12590008, of which I have two, and is for everything BUT van. Rock Auto says a 2007 Van needs TAC module #12590009. It's on the way.
And, just for motivation:
Dad passed away this morning. I was by his side.
He never got to ride in the truck, the flagship of my abilities so far.
Im saddened to hear this. My prayers are with you.

My condolences. I'm certain he was very proud of you.
Maybe take him on his last ride to the cemetery?

I'm so sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences.
My condolences, SkinnyG. May he rest easy, and ride shotgun whenever you need.
My condolences.
I kind of understand how much that hurts.. him never getting to ride in it. My first car was a truck I bought from my mom. I still have it but it hasnt ran since 96. I wanted to get it back on the road before she passed 6 years ago last Monday (9/4). To this day it is one of the regrets I have.. (not trying to make it about me, just trying to show I understand...)
is there anyway to make some sort of a tribute to him with the truck?

I appreciate this. You get it.
As a high-functioning Autistic (Asperger's), I have one interest, cars. It's all I've ever been into, and I go DEEP down the rabbit hole with it (and I bring a shovel). Dad saw all my projects from simply maintaining my first car at age 12, to greater "bolt on" mods on my second car at 13, to V8 Pintos, V8 Vegas, I took him autocrossing in the '86 Civic, he got a ride in the Locost, I helped him downsize in the lowered Hardbody, I took him for a spin in the V8 Firefly, I took him shopping in the Squarebody, and in the Angry Accent. And he helped build my shop, from forming the footings to doing the roof, insulation, and wiring. This truck was the biggest, most complicated, most taxing of all my vehicular projects, the show case of my skills. I would always show my youtube videos to him, but.... alas....
The throttle module arrives tomorrow.
I appreciate all the condolences. You guys are all my second family. I appreciate you all.
Hang in there Skinny, our thoughts are with you and your father today.
Sorry to hear of his passing. I would absolutely incorporate the truck in some memorial ride fashion. It sounds like he was involved for the long term with your passion and would be appreciative.

Ahhh, Skinny. I'm really sorry for you, man. Your dad really sounded like a good 'un. :)
Lost my dad fifteen years ago. I still find myself thinking that I should call him and share what I am working on.
Sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself
