You're gonna want the Bridgestones. You're giving up about a second on a 60 second course with the Hankooks.

They'll come next year. Our first points event was very early this year, before the stones and rivals were available so I grabbed the RS3s again. It didn't take me long to see they were the wrong choice lol
I bought RS3s at the end of last year because everyone was like, whatever it's street tires now, how much better could they get?
Now I'm gonna wait till spring to see what else pops up.

The NCM track, which has our best autocross pad, is having lots of sound issues with the neighbors. It needs the resonator to bring the overall volume down so I don't add to the problem there. Once the resonator and new cat are on we will see if the drone improves any. If not I will look at adding a Helmholtz pipe. The trick will be figuring out where to put it, what size diameter it needs to be, and how long. A few aftermarket exhaust have them in similar location to the stock one, but I need to research the size of them.
If you have access to a spectrum analyzer and a microphone there is some basic math to help size a helmholtz resonator. Learned that it basic acoustics in college, but I've only applied it once on an intake tube but it worked.

I don't have access to a true analyzer, but there are several smartphone apps that claim to be spectrum analyzers. Will those suffice, or will I need more info than just the hertz reading of the drone at its loudest?

You should be good assuming that it's accurate. I've used a freeware program before on a laptop like that. Try it and see what you get. If you get a giant frequency spike indicating a drone, you can aim for that frequency and at least use it as a decent starting point.
Hint: size of the resonance tube on the OEM exhaust is probably a good place to start This thread makes me miss my silverstone AP1.
Also, just noticed the EGA on the toolbox, I believe a "Semper Fi" is in order

My brother is the Marine, I'm just a big supporter. I probably would have joined the corp too, but health issues prevent that.
I have finally moved into the world of early 2000's tuning technology:
Greddy E-manage Ultimate (not the kitteh). It's practically the only STR legal tuning option for the AP1 as it still keeps OBD2 port functionality. Picked this up from a local autocrosser and good friend that has moved on to BSP, where he can go full standalone. It came with a patch harness, laptop, and quite a few tunes. The big perk is moving the v-tec crossover point. I used the richest of the tunes with the crossover at 4500rpm instead of the factory point at 6000rpm. It's noticeably stronger, especially in the midrange. A custom tune will be in the near future to get the most out of this thing.
