Welcome back. I am much happier with donor #2. But to be fair to #1, it confirmed your twisted vision. You should never marry your first cousin anyways, second is OK. I think?
Pete
You know, come to think of it, wouldn't this be a brother or a sister?
Just kidding... :)
So the shift here comes from two ideas.
1. I have 4 'active' project cars, and another 5 in the fleet to maintain.
Had to get honest and say, I just don't have the time to do the VW mash up the right way. That concerned me as making the Ghia into something ok was acceptable to me, making it into and unfinished piece of scrap was not.
2. This option is budget friendly ($0) and will likely result in a more competitive car, with less effort to make it rightish.
BTW, the body for no $$ was a result of trading the expensive bits I did not need (like the top pump) to someone who buys these from Copart and parts them out. He had a clean picked shell that was his worthless to his business model and I had excess parts that were not needed for any version of a future competition car.
Ok, first the reason for the offer....
See #1 above.
Add to that, I have a lot of tree fort building to do.
:)
Now the offer:
Both bodies, (red no title, black cert of destruction), engine, transmission, drivetrain, etc with a set of roller wheels and a set of good painted wheels with new tires (2019 challenge). $600 ($300 cars, $300 tires, for budget purposes, sold as a set only.)
Kevin
Update,
The union was called off, after some serious fooling around.
I found that I don't have enough landscaping to hide 6 projects on two acres.
Lots of imagination, no space to do it 'right' in, even when right is used loosely.
LOL. Those are MY standards, no HOA involved. LOL

We still loved coming down there and seeing the mad scientist workshop. Are you coming with something this year?
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
Yes, I think I am. I would attend as a spectator, but since that is not an option, I'm kicking around two ideas.
1. Austin Healey - Exhibition Class - just because it make cool sounds, and I'd like to thrash on it in a controlled manner.
2. U42T Mitsubishi Mini Truck as an entrant if I can satisfy the stability calcs. And I think I can. It won't win anything, but I'd like to have the first Kei class vehicle to FINISH a challenge, (shots fired...) lol.
Either of these would suffice to get me in.
Can I have my 11 year old (12 by the event) son on the team as a crew member?
REALLY enjoyed your visit as well. Lets get together this year too..

Any chance?
I vote for the mini truck! Be the first!
I vote just show up with something. Though I bet even a kei van could beat me on the autox course.

Hmmm maybe 2021? Exponential Healey is the best kind of Healey... I think that's a proven scientific fact.
In reply to AxeHealey :
I like where this is headed.

Is the T-bird still a plan?
