Tonight’s activities in TechniColor:
Today’s plan:
delete dpf on truck because I successfully tuned the pcm last night, i made it through the work week with 2 miles left on the “5mph hahaha you’re berkeleyed see dealer” countdown. Note to “that guy” no i am not doing this to roll coal, i’m doing this because i need my truck to be functional and not always at the dealer with failing systems.
neatly install all the tuning wires and module under dash
Do car things. I went to my uncle’s last night for some rubber nubs for the door handles, which came from international or freightliner or kenworth, because anytime they were clearing out inventory to the dumpster because of whatever reason, lots of it found the way to his truck instead. Well, good old uncle Greg was having a few by the fire, and in a very giving mood of this free stuff. I got the “i got 1 car left in me after this one, i’m never gonna use all this E36 M3, take it” and handful after handful of electrical connectors, bolts, grommets, tape, bushings, ground straps, etc got put into a bag. I get to sort it out, but i got my door nubs.
In reply to Patrick :
There's a SOURCE for door nubs? I thought they just were treated as "replace as car assembly".
My '81 RX-7 needs all of them. I broke one of the remaining ones at the fuel door while cleaning the car and nearly cried inside.
So i was not aware until 20 minutes ago that my truck in fact doesn’t have a muffler. So in doing the “deletes” I would have straight pipe from turbo back. For racecar, hell yes. For daily work truck tow monster, oh hell no. So i’m going to summit racing.
Hello clearance rack, my old friend
I’ve come to shop from you again
My credit card slowly creeping
my wife sees it softly weeping
From the parts that were planted in my cart
i shall make art.
Within the sounds, of welding.

Surely not to Simon & Gfuffle ......perhaps RANCID???
Interesting that Simon and Garfunkel and also Rancid are best known in their respective genres for their harmonies. This probably means that the Wartburg needs twin exhaust with two slightly different mufflers. Or something.
Brilliant verse by the way.
Going to ebay this E36 M3 and see how much i can get back
Runs clean no soot, no overfueled diesel smell, did my 60k oil and fuel filter(s) change, great success. Before challenge tow duty just have to do the RR pads and rotate tires/balance one
i could always tell when it was injecting DEf because it would burn my eyes.

The little nubby rubber bit that goes in a hole in the door and the handle shuts on it and stops so it doesn’t hit the paint.
In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :
Something really struck us when we ran out of nitrous, our berkeleying car would only lay down thirteens
Learning how to use my new tools
The notcher instead of grinder is great, but having a bender on site is a game changer
Almost gave up when my drill battery died but then talked myself out of it and got the big boy Milwaukee right angle drill out to keep notching
So much win!!
As to the DPF delete, is your truck loud?? My F450 that I deleted only has a little maybe 12" resonator, its quiet..... I ran it just with the downpipe and was very surprised. Its twins though wich may add a bit more muffling.
In reply to java230 :
I added a long mbrp stainless muffler because I don’t like unmuffled anything, so it’s not loud. I had one of their mufflers on my 454 c1500 and loved it so i went back to them. Maybe from outside, but windows down or up, once i hit 30 the tire noise drowns anything else out. I did start it with downpipe only, because who wouldn’t, and i needed quieter. I could see it being horrible going uphill with a huge trailer.
In reply to Patrick :
Interesting, I wonder if its just two turbo's on mine then, because the DP vs full exhaust on mine was remarkably similar. Its not loud by any means now with just the resonator.
